Mother's Day is just around the corner (May 11th if you weren't 100% sure).
What do you do to honour yours, if you're able? It can really be a challenge. How do we make it a meaningful celebration without completely supporting the extensive commercialism that surrounds it? Continue reading "Mother’s Day" →

"We only get so many trips around the sun." I heard those words in a recent hit song and it stopped me in my tracks. It's so easy to get caught up in the angst of everyday life – the busyness, the stress, the responsibilities. Why do we allow all the crazy? When it's all said and done so much of it isn't very meaningful anyway. Here at DAC, we know that something as material as your ol' car can make one of those trips around the sun meaningful indeed! …And so this is Christmas. Another year over.
As we take time this holiday season to reflect on all that has happened this past year, we are ever mindful and grateful for all those generous hearts who have donated their vehicles to make a difference for the 200+ charities we support.
From the Calgary Floods to Chris Hadfield’s outer space experience, it has been a year that Canadians have shown their true colours in spades. Continue reading "And So This is Christmas" →
It’s that time of year when we know the snow and cold will hit most parts of the country, but we’re always in shock and awe when it does! The weather
outside has definitely been frightful in our neck of the woods (Calgary), and it’s been a week of, “Baby it’s COLD outside!” followed by, “I can’t believe this weather, brrrr, we should move south!” Can you relate? Continue reading "Feels Like the North Pole – Warm up With a Free Tow!" →
It’s no secret I love month end because of the cheques we send to our 180+ registered charities*, as we’ve been directed by our donors. Like the Kidney Car program, Donate a Car puts dollars to work for the cause you love, and in
October we were able to send off an astounding $111,000 to support various Charities of Choice!!
One of the things I’ve always appreciated about Donate A Car is our ability to touch lives and organizations across the nation, simply by providing a service that helps people get much needed funds to their favourite charities. Almost 2 weeks after the catastrophic flood in Southern Alberta, the recovery process in Calgary has been nothing short of amazing. First responders and volunteers alike have committed their hearts and souls to getting people back in their homes and to ensuring there is as much support available as possible. Canmore has made huge strides towards cleanup efforts and are on the road to figuring things out. High River, however, still sits under water in many parts (watch CTVs latest report
), and its 13,000 residents are still homeless, without their local jobs, hospital and community. Continue reading "Donate A Car Joins Flood Recovery: Supporting the Red Cross" →
