Exploitation affects each of us
The Regina and Area Sexual Assault Centre offers this as a call to action in our efforts to shift Canadian attitudes and awareness around exploitation:
Each day in our work as sexual violence organizations, we see it – we know that survivors carry themselves with hypervigilance and fight-or-flight defaults everywhere, having unspoken rules to keep one another safe. The personal responsibility of prevention often falls only on those who are at risk of sexual violence, rather than being seen as a community wide issue that requires community wide action.
For SVAW 2023, we are asking our community to join us, not only in choosing to see, but choosing to involve themselves in creating change.
When we acknowledge and understand the ways sexualized violence impacts individuals, we have a choice to make – do we simply see and accept the inequity? Or do we speak up, stand up, and choose to act?

Putting an end to exploitation
Sexual violence and exploitation, trafficking and all forms of domestic violence, impact Canadians. Together, we can put an end to all kinds of exploitation. Start by engaging with the charity nearest you. Then, find out what you can do to become involved in educating, advocating, and increasing awareness.

As ever, Canadian charitable works need cash flow. This is one way you and I can easily get involved! While we may not have boots on the ground ourselves, we can support those who do!
Donate a Car Canada is set up to serve every registered charity in Canada. Your van, motorcycle, truck, car, or SUV can mean big dollars for your cause.
If you represent a charity that isn’t already posted on our website, reach out! Our charities coordinator will have you wheels up and running in no time. Additionally, we will provide digital materials to help you spread the word of this donation option to your regular donors.
