As we point our hearts and minds toward a hopeful new year, we do it in the happy knowledge that we are all in this together. Big vehicle, or small vehicle, your sacrifice matters. Huge charity, or growing charity, your gift helps. Big change re-sale dollars, standard scrap return, every dollar added makes a difference!
How many slams in an old screen door?
Depends how loud you shut it.
How many slices in a bread?
Depends how thin you cut it.
How much good inside a day?
Depends how good you live ‘em.
How much love inside a friend?
Depends how much you give ‘em.
~HOW MANY, HOW MUCH (A Light in the Attic) Shel Silverstein ~
2015 was a year of ongoing growth and change for us here at Donate a Car Canada: we had the opportunity to connect with thousands of Canadian car donors. We also saw donations to charities of every cause imaginable soar!
And the school of hard knocks was a rough-em-up teacher. We learned a whole lot about the metal industry. Scrap metal values settled in at rates that allowed for hearty returns for our charities. We then saw those same values plummet as the country plunged into an economic downturn.
We said goodbye to some beloved staff. And we welcomed new members to our small team.
Big changes. Small changes.
Big change, small change – those dollars and cents add up!
Donations poured in across the country all year long. We saw generous returns of thousands of dollars on single vehicle sales (we’re actually processing another gift of just over $7000.00 for the Children’s Wish Foundation as we write — that’s almost one complete wish!). We also saw the downturn in the industry lead to some donations that don’t look like much on paper, but that will allow their receiving charities to, one heartfelt gift after another, add them all up together and continue to ensure that small gifts have big impact!
“How much good inside a day? Depends how good you live ‘em.” Silverstein’s words set the bar for a hopeful and generous 2016, and we’re excited to serve alongside you as you fill your days with so much goodness!
