Giving Tuesday brings us together

“GivingTuesday is a global movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.” How will you get involved on December 2, 2025?

So many ways to participate this December

Look no further for ways to share this Giving Tuesday! Donate a Car Canada processes donations for any Canadian charity! Each one will offer ways that you can help. Just as you. Where you are. Today!

Many of us are not in a position to give financially. No problem! The smallest acts of kindness bring meaningful relief. Your innate Goodness? It matters! Share it in the way that you are best able. A written note, or a pot of soup. An offer of childcare, or pet sitting. A simple, authentic smile.

‘Have your feet under you and feeling some financial freedom? Canadian charities will put your dollars and cents to excellent work. Caring, skilled men, women, and children are manning the wheel at our charities. What they need more than anything? The finances to keep things in motion. Your financial offering can make such a difference.

On the other hand, some charities will accept gifts-in-kind — that lightly used couch, coat, or pair of shoes will help!

Get Intentional

Give where you feel the love! CanadaHelps is a fabulous resource in selecting charities to support.

The cause that has most-helped you or your loved ones may be just the place to start this Giving Tuesday. If vulnerable pets or our remarkable Canadian wildlife tug at your heartstrings, give them a paw (or talon…or fin) up!

In giving creatively, you might even think about the impact your gift has on more than one level. Giving your lightly used household items, or a vehicle, means practical help to the recipient. That kind of giving does more! It reduces waste and is helpful environmentally. It clears your own space (possibly aiding in your own wellbeing). The benefits touch into your life, the life (lives) of your recipient, and the broader world.

Your Giving Tuesday

We’d love to see you this Giving Tuesday! Pick your charity and do up our quick donation form (it takes less than 10 minutes to fill out). Your charity not on our list? No problem! Just let us know and we’ll direct your gift to the cause you love! We’ll have you set up with your free tow and on your way to a tax receipt in short order!

That free tow will be managed efficiently, and with care. Typically, donated vehicles are picked up within 1 – 3 business days. You’ll be called in advance to ensure timing that suits you well.

The gift on top of the gift in all of this? Just as there is no cost to you, there is no cost to your charity of choice. We are here to ensure this full process is managed on behalf of yourself and your charity so that you can all keep doing what you need to do!

In anticipation of making a big difference together…

Summer vacation and “donation” aren’t two ideas you’d immediately connect. One Canadian tour company pairs the two perfectly!

Turning that summer vacation ride into riches for charity

Have you ever wondered what happens to your summer vacation shuttle bus once its driven its last carriage full of tourists through the Rockies? One BC company makes it a habit of extending the legacy of those trusty vehicles.

The company owner first came to Donate a Car Canada in 2022. His 2010 Ford E450 Bus had been rendered immovable thanks to a stolen catalytic converter. $500.00 was raised for the Regional Animal Protection Society.

Then, in 2023, he donated a scrap-ready 2014 Ford E450 shuttle bus. It too had, you guessed it, a stolen catalytic converter. RAPS received $275.00 dollars to help the critters.

Most recently, this same donor rolled back in with a double donation in January! You read that right: two shuttle vehicles in one month. The happy news? These ones weren’t quite ready to come off the road. Auction-ready and fully of potential, his 2015 Ford E-450 was sold for a donation of $2866.15 for the BC SPCA! It’s parking lot pal, a 2011 Mercedes Benz Sprinter, went for a $1109.02 donation for the same charity!

Summer is more than just slushies and sunshine

The example set by this summer vacation shuttle owner is inspiring! Every vehicle counts — junker and jewel alike. Ask the care teams at RAPS and the BC SPCA: big donation, or small, when it comes to helping vulnerable animals, every gift matters.

This summer, if you find yourself tired of sweeping around that old Taurus, donate it!

Mowing the lawn for the sixth time and annoyed by that unused Honda in the driveway? Donate it!

This summer vacation, turn your imagination toward creative ways of giving back to the charity you love. And if that includes donating an unwanted car, van, SUV, truck, or motorcycle, we’re your crew! We’ll keep the process simple, quick, and free — for donor and charity alike!

We’re a click or a call away!

Wildfires are taking a dramatic toll in Canada already this year. The cost in human suffering and displacement is high. Domestic animals and Canadian wildlife are affected. And the cost to infrastructure and agriculture impacts us all.

Wildfires in Canada | Join the fight

If you find yourself eager to get involved on behalf of your fellow Canadians this fire season, we can help.

Whether your focus of care is all about the people, the critters, or the land, there is a place for your generosity.

Team Rubicon is a “veteran-led humanitarian organization that serves global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises.” In a previous wildfire season, they posted,

🔥 Canada’s on fire, and we need YOUR help! 🔥

Team Rubicon Canada is in the trenches, working tirelessly with local, provincial, and federal emergency management to bring relief to communities impacted by the devastating wildfires. The destruction caused by these infernos is massive, and the long-term consequences will be felt in communities for years to come.

⚠️ We can’t do this alone. We need your support now more than ever. ⚠️

Join us in making a difference for those affected by this unprecedented wildfire season. Together, we can bring hope, relief, and the promise of a brighter future. Donate today.

Fightin’ the fire |When wildfires mean callin’ in the troops

Next, explore these charities to learn how they are boots-on-the-ground (or in the air!) responding to wildfires in Canada:

BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund

Neebing Fire/Rescue Association

Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society

STARS Foundation

Finding mission and caring that resonates with you? Go ahead! Reach out to your charity of choice and learn how you can contribute or volunteer today.

Helping the helpers | Care for first responders when the wildfires are under control

The less visible toll of fire season is the cost to those who are putting their lives on the line. Visit Wounded Warriors to learn a bit about caring for first responders. Find out how you can get involved with their work!

Critter care and Canadian wildfires

Helping the voiceless — that is what our wildlife and animal rescue charities are all about! To help in choosing the recipient for your gift of time or resources, pop over to our Charities Page. Then, search, “Wildlife” to be directed to a list of charities that will include one nearest you. Or, if you prefer, a charity that is supporting directly in an area impacted by wildfires this season.

Search, “Rescue,” or “Animal Rescue,” to be directed to our many such domestic animal/pet supports.

Furthermore, don’t forget to search the SPCA and humane society services in affected areas, too. These shelters are often overwhelmed with an influx of displaced animals. They may need food, bedding, and financial aid to ensure care for vulnerable pets.

People, pets, parks, or prairie — your car can help!

If you have an unused, unwanted motorcycle, van, truck, SUV, or car, this is the time to donate it to help fight Canadian wildfires! We have crews at the ready to serve in every affected province.

Whether your donated vehicle is re-sale ready, or rolling toward retirement, we are excited to come alongside you and your charity!

First, click the big red button below to donate. ‘Prefer to talk to a funny and caring human? Call in to 1-877-250-4904. Then, wait just a day or two to get a call to arrange your free tow. Finally, sit back and wait for your tax receipt to land in your in box!

Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter are a great source of inspiration and motivation. There you will be able to keep up-to-date on our posts showcasing amazing donors and charities in every province in Canada!

Be safe, and be well, All.

What do you do when you find a vulture in your garage? Good Samaritans Laura and Mark spent their Christmas season faced with just such a question. Then? Well, wait until you see what happens next…

Donate a vehicle for your cause

If you are poised to donate a vehicle, you already know that it is a personal, intentional, and generous process. There is a story behind every car! What’s yours? Here’s more from Laura and Mark:

Visiting vulture

“We were outside shoveling the drive way on December 18 when we saw a big bird soaring aloft. We thought, That is very odd; it must be a turkey vulture but it is long overdue heading south for the winter. Off it headed west on the breeze and we thought that was the end of that — except it wasn’t! Preparing to head out grocery shopping we noticed the vulture had flown into the open garage door without leaving a track in the snow! He nestled in our garage. When approached he made a hissing noise by expending air quickly out his nostrils, and he liked to stomp his feet one foot at a time to show who was boss.

Who do you call when a vulture moves in?

My husband Mark called the SPCA who recommended he call a couple of animal rescue services, including Shades of Hope in Ontario. It turns out this bird was reported in numerous garages around the area some weeks ago. The story goes it may have been sick and was too weak to fly at a young age so someone started sheltering and feeding it. Eventually, we suspect that person either attempted to capture the bird for transport to a sanctuary and it got free, or simply let it go into the winter air, based on information that it would be okay to do so.

Now it was socialized to some extent and, even though it could soar with the best of them, its family had long since left for South America, and he had no choice but to do the only thing he knew: go from garage to garage looking for food and shelter, where he was shooed away. No doubt he was cold and desperate. It was so sad!

Shades of Hope to the rescue

The staff at Shades of Hope animal sanctuary said my husband should find a big bin and try to capture the vulture by approaching it with a large sheet and casting the sheet about the vulture. The vulture and sheet could then be placed in the bin. He tried that to no avail. “Vic” (as we named him) flew up onto the rails for the garage door where no one could reach him.

We put cat food out as a lure as per the advice of a man my husband contacted at another sanctuary. The idea was to lure the vulture back to ground level and try again with the sheet. Vic flew down for the cat food but since capturing Vic in this manner seemed very unlikely, my husband called animal control to see if they had further opinions on what to do. We were advised by animal control to keep Vic until the next day until advised on what to do by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The Ministry of Natural Resources weighs in

The next day the person from the Ministry of Natural Resources called and said that vultures are a protected species. They are no longer endangered (their population once suffered terribly due to the use of DDT). There were no particular regulations around what to do with Vic. The options we had were to shoo the bird once more into the winter air, or to bring him to Shades of Hope Animal Sanctuary.

The choice was clear: there is no way we were going to shoo Vic into the winter again. Vultures are not adapted to survive in winter weather. They would suffer frost bite to their unfeathered head and feet, and have no way to detect food under deep snow with their fine sense of smell and telescopic vision. Shooing Vic out again was ensuring his certain death. The mission became to take Vic to the Shades of Hope in Pefferlaw.

Winning Vic over

We cared for Vic by giving him shelter, lots of space, water and food. Vultures have a voracious appetite! He would quickly gobble up ½ pound portions of raw beef burger or steak. Contrary to popular belief, vultures prefer fresh meat, not decaying meat from old carcasses. We are sure, given a few days more, that Vic would have eaten out of our hands. He would approach ever closer when we brought him food, and fussed less and less. There was never a plan to hand feed him or to socialize him even more, and we never did. This bird had to get his strength back, return to the skies to meet up with his friends, and raise a family of his own.

Vic in the Slammer

Vulture transport: more challenging than you’d think!

The challenge was how to get Vic into a container for transport to Shades of Hope. We were quickly successful in luring Vic into a large dog crate using a trail of steak. He stayed there comfortably for the night, with a space heater in the area to keep him warm.

The next morning we got permission to leave work to transport Vic to the Shades of Hope. Unfortunately there was a problem: the cage would not fit into the back of our Toyota Matrix! Mark frantically called everyone he knew who may have a van or other suitable vehicle for the warm transport of Vic in the cage, and that included car rental agencies. The search was unsuccessful!

That left only one option open: Mark had to go into the cage to capture Vic, and place him in the large plastic bin as per the original plan. Mark was much more worried about the stress to Vic incurred by capturing him than anything else, but there was no choice. At least the cage would prevent Vic from flying upward into the rafters of the garage.

Vic Ready for Travel

Vulture wrangling

My husband climbed into the dog crate and managed to capture Vic in a blanket and nestle him comfortably in the container for transport. Vic flapped a bit during the capture, but it was not difficult. He was quiet once in the darkness of the plastic crate. A rope was placed over the edge of the crate to make sure air would get inside.

Vic at Shades of Hope

Mark delivered Vic to the delighted staff at Shades of Hope. They had never sheltered a turkey vulture before! Mark cracked the lid of the bin open slightly once inside the shelter and Vic peered out. He’d long escaped the blanket. He had not fussed at all during the journey. The bin was placed on the floor of Vic’s new home, a luxurious stall equipped with branches to perch on. The lid of the bin was opened and with a couple of flaps Vic was on the perch. He relaxed quickly and began to preen his feathers.

What came next (Don’t worry…we’re getting to the “Donate a Vehicle” part of the story!)

Mark took a photo as Vic gazed back. It was almost as though he knew he would be cared for and all would be okay. Mark thought, this bird is definitely a little socialized. It saved him from psychological and physical damage during shelter and transport. Mark left a donation to help with Vic’s upkeep. Following up on Vic a few days later at Shades of Hope, we were surprised and delighted to receive the following message:

Your turkey vulture is in fine form! We gave him a checkup and he is very young as suspected, but his body condition is good. His tail feathers are in rough shape but that can be fixed with time and space. Your Vic was packed up and driven all the way out to Napanee last night. He is now with Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre where he will spend the winter in a large protected outdoor raptor aviary. He has a heat lamp and room to stretch his wings. Thank you for bringing him in. He would not have survived the winter on his own out there.

Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre steps up, too

We also followed up with Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre on January 5th and we received the following message:

Vic at Sandy Pines

He is doing well has his own room with heating and lamps eating up a storm. He will have to stay inside until the worst of winter is over. They usually migrate once the frost starts in Ontario. Thanks for helping him.

Vic inspires rescuers to donate a vehicle

It happened that Mark’s Honda Civic had reached the end of its road at this time. There was no option but to scrap it, but he knew there was a way that the proceeds from the scrap yard could be sent to charity. An on-line search quickly turned up Donate A Car Canada. Looking at the long list of charities at Donate a Car Canada one jumped off the screen: Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre! This is perfect, he thought!

Who knew it would be so simple to donate a vehicle?

After a few calls and e-mails the arrangements to have the proceeds from the Honda Civic sent to Sandy Pines Wildlife Center were set in place. The funds will help the center in their wonderful cause of wildlife rehabilitation, and that included Vic. Many thanks to Donate A Car Canada for helping make this happen.

Wrapping up part one of Vic’s story

Christmas will always be a time when we remember Vic the Turkey Vulture and how he chose us to rescue him from the cold winter. Given the uniqueness of this experience and the time of year that it happened it is hard not to look for deeper meaning. What came to mind is a list of virtues that came into play and how great it was to exercise them: compassion for another soul; caring; kindness; charity; humility for another creature; kindness; determination to see the best result for Vic; gratitude to all who helped and finally thankfulness for the whole experience.”

Delightful story and photos contributed by donors, Laura Mattice and Mark Newton

‘Ever wonder what your Buick has to do with Beagles…and beasts of all sorts? Donated vehicles help keep wildlife rescues, SPCA’s, and humane societies thrumming. Raise a paw (or claw!) if you want to hear what happens when you donate a car for animals!

Aligning with charities like The Beagle Alliance

If you love Beagles, donate a van to one of Canada’s Beagle-loving works!

One of our newly signed charities in 2023 is called The Beagle Alliance — and we’ve got another minivan donation set to land in their account this month end. The donor wrote, “…everything went excellent!”

In Springtime this year, a donated Toyota Yaris was auctioned for a donation of $1569.45!

Excellence in donor and charity care is the heart of serving causes like theirs.

Bears and beyond

Are you more about donkeys, or pigs, or wilder things? You will find your charity of choice is able to receive your valuable vehicle donation.

‘Every heard of the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada? They’re set to receive a $700.00 gift from an ’07 Toyota Tacoma gift this month!

Funds for Furry Friends will see $500.00 from last month’s Kia donation.

Hope for Wildlife is getting a donation of over $1,000.00 from the re-sale of a 2010 Honda Civic

A recycle-ready VW Jetta will ensure a steady-on $300.00 for Zoocheck, too!

New charities jump on board our program every day. There is good reason for that: donors like you having the freedom to give where you care are number one. Secondly, it means irreplaceable donation dollars.

I want to give to a Canadian wildlife cause

There are so many ways to tend our earth and our wilds! Your regional charity will benefit from your time, your social media shares, and even from your gifts-in-kind. Visit your nearby charity’s web page and find their “Ways to Donate” information.

‘Ready to go big and donate your unused or unwanted vehicle? Here are some of the causes we currently work alongside:

Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area

Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation

Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary

BC Parks Foundation

Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society

Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS)

Critter Care Wildlife Society

Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society

Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc.

The Land Between

TLC The Land Conservancy of British Columbia

Toronto Wildlife Centre

World Wildlife Fund Canada

Zoocheck

My charity isn’t on your list

If you wish to donate a car for animals and don’t see the cause you wish to support on our list, no problem! We are at-the-ready to serve any Canadian charity. It’s possible that if you visit your charity they already have us linked somewhere on their website. If you can’t find the link, let us know…or reach out to your charity to let them know of your hope to donate your vehicle.

Once we’re connected with them we can get the work done to set them up with their own vehicle donation program. No cost to them. No cost to you. Big benefits to your, your charity, and critters across the country!

It’s as easy as 1-2-3 to donate a car for animals

Whether you’re in a major centre like Toronto or Vancouver, or caring for our coasts out East, your charity welcomes your car donation. Truck, van, SUV, car, or motorcycle — every vehicle makes a difference. And in every province, too!

You might already be a fan of Vic the Vulture. He flapped his way into our hearts awhile back, thanks to donors like you and their conservation charity of choice.

Whatever inspires you to give to Canadian wildlife conservation, we are here to make the process as easy as 1-2-3:

Donate a car for your local animal shelter

One happy donor writes,

“I am so far very pleased with the entire interaction with your organization!

Within a day or two of filling in the online form to donate my vehicle, the tow truck agent phoned me to arrange a pick-up date and time. The agent was here right on time the morning we had agreed upon. He was very friendly and we even had a good three-way conversation with my back lane neighbour who was interested in my donation of the truck and the pick-up of it.

The tow truck agent encouraged me to take a goodbye photo of the truck, so I quickly got my camera from inside the house. He obliged my neighbour by removing one license plate on request. Then, he instructed me to sign and date the “seller” form on the back of the vehicle registration and give it to him. Then, with the vehicle well-secured on the bed of his tow truck, I touched the truck a few last times. I kissed my fingers and touched them to the truck. Then the neighbour and I waved as the tow truck drove away until it was out of sight. A fine gentleman, is the tow truck agent – I wish I would have asked his name.

Also I was pleased that Donate A Car left me a voicemail the day before to comply with my request when I submitted the donation form online, to phone me to confirm that I will receive a tax receipt. The person who left the phone message gave me detailed complete information and indicated that the towing agent would be in touch with me.”

~ C.L.

Ukraine animal rescue: how you can help…

Pet refugees

Ukraine animal rescue is top-of-heart for some local animal charities. War displaces pets just as it does their owners.

For dog and cat lovers, this hits close and hard. Wartime is not kind to domesticated animals. Animal lovers want to help!

There are animal care charities ready to help, house, feed, and tend these innocent critters. Getting behind the cause you love helps reach animals that you cannot get to personally. Believe it or not, your old clunker is one easy way to make a big difference!

Parachutes for Pets | One charity weighs in

One of our receiving charities, Parachutes for Pets, offers,

“Yesterday we reached out to the Ukrainian Consulate and various Ukrainian organizations to offer support (pet pack, vet checks) for other pets coming over with the Ukrainian Refugees Canada is set to welcome.

Today we were connected with a lady in Kyiv who has stayed behind with her pets and husband to feed and care for pets left behind. She has been using her own resources and they are running low.

We have committed to sending funds to assist with pet food as well as pet packs for those coming to Canada.”

If animal care is where your compassion sparks, consider exploring this giving option!

Ukraine animal rescue from the comfort of home

House pets do not lean one way or another. Their politics are…well…they are just not part of any of the rumblings of humankind. They are truly innocent victims of human foible and grappling.

Are you wrestling with how best to reach toward global needs like these? There are so many conflicts brewing all at once. Needs close at hand could use your gifts, too. On the other hand, our aide is needed around the world. Giving creatively and generously can be a confusion of options and ideas!

We simplify the process! Visit our Donate a Car charities page. There you will see a searchable list of Canadian charities. Your charity of choice not on the list? No problem — just ask and we’ll be sure your gift goes to the cause you love!

Spend a little time exploring options for your car, truck, van, SUV, or motorcycle donation. Your unused/unwanted vehicle can make a tremendous difference to whatever cause you choose. If caring for vulnerable creatures (and, by extension, their owners) is your heart work, we can help!

Charity care in your own back yard

Voltaire challenges us to tend our own garden. For some of us, helping the world means helping at home. If that is you, your local animal shelter continues to serve. In fact, it is business as usual for most Canadian relief works. The needs here in Canada are felt and, in some cases, critical. Your vehicle donation can help local charities. Right now. Bringing immediate aid in your own neighbourhood, town, or province.

Regardless of where you designate your gift, you can expect excellent and amiable donor support service from us here. Your charity will never pay a penny for our services. Your gift will go to the charity you’ve chosen. What a beautiful way to offer steadying compassion in strange times!

Calgary Humane Society and Alberta Cancer Foundation get a lot of love from DOUBLE donor. You won’t believe how much this Mini Cooper donor earned for her charity!

Not all heroes fly…

…some roll in to auction on two wheels…and then again on four Mini Cooper wheels! One of our donors is a beautiful reflection of the Goodness that can come from one generous human!

We’ll call our double donor Rachel. As is so often the case with our donors, they are not looking for accolades. They want to remain anonymous. Rachel is just so!

We first met Rachel in March of 2021. Her first donation was a 2004 Aprilia Atlantic scooter. Her donation outcome on this rare little bomb around? $928.25 for the Alberta Cancer Foundation!

Her second donation was to follow just months later. In July of 2021 she opted to part with her 1999 hunter green Rover Mini Cooper. Little did she or the Calgary Humane Society know how big those little Mini bids would go!

Donating a ’99 Mini Cooper| Humane Society for the win!

As with many car donors, Rachel had no idea what to expect when she reached out to us here at Donate a Car Canada. Would the process be simple? It was! Time consuming? Not at all. Could she even donate her scooter? You bet! And what would happen to her fun little Mini? Re-sale through auction all the way!

Both the scooter and the Rover were easily accommodated through our auction process. Rachel was contacted by our tow agent to arrange her free pick-up. The vehicles were then both successfully run through our supporting Calgary auction house. And this during pandemic times!

Auction outcomes are subject to what buyers are willing to offer on sale day. Sale outcomes remain a mystery throughout the process. So, when we learned of the exceptional offer received on this particular ‘Cooper we were over the moon for her charities! And Rachel was too,

“I am STUNNED. Seriously I don’t know what to say!!! I am so thrilled the car sold so well! Honestly I only paid about $9,000 for it many years ago and was kind of crossing my fingers we’d get close to that amount, but I was expecting $5K more realistically. Over 12K is FANTASTIC, I can’t believe it!!! Thank you again for all of your help with this. I know it was a very unusual vehicle to auction and we had no idea how it’d do. So this turned out far, far better than I’d ever even hoped!

I was so happy with how everything turned
out!

I am crossing my fingers that others might be interested in donating in the
future, especially older, weird cars like mine.“

Rachel’s humane society and ACF heartwork

The Calgary Humane Society and the Alberta Cancer Foundation have each been partnered with Donate a Car for over 10 years.

The Alberta Cancer Foundation received their first vehicle donation in 2011. From the beginning, this has been one of our donors’ most beloved causes.

Their work? The ACF raises and receives funds on behalf of 17 treatment centres in Alberta. Funding supports cancer research, patient education and financial assistance programs, equipment and technology acquisition, and cancer care programs.

We have many active donations for them in the works at the time of this writing! Rachel’s $900.00 scooter donation in Spring is a special reflection of a loving community of supporters.

And the Calgary Humane Society has been with us just as long! These animal carers shelter, heal, protect, and place 10,000 animals per year in distress or crisis. Rachel’s extraordinary gift of $12044.75 goes such a long way in this kind of work. And we have a handful of currently active donors who agree — the critters at CHS will receive more donations here in the next few weeks!

Steering you toward sharing the Goodness

Steer your vehicle in the donation direction. Humane society, healthcare cause, children’s charity, or you-name-it-we’ve-got-it Good Work: your car, truck, or van donation will make a difference to the charity you choose. And we are so happy to help!

Animal protection through car donation? You won’t believe how many trucks and vans Heritage Office Furnishings has donated through Donate a Car Canada! Learn about the charity they care about, and more…

November 2021 update

Make that 18 vehicles! ‘Company adds one more fleet HHR to all of the Goodness you’ll read about below:

Company giving helps more than charity

This year we celebrated an animal protection anniversary of sorts! We first encountered Vancouver-based Heritage Office Furnishings six years ago. From the start they set themselves apart as a special donor. Their first gift? Three (3) vehicles!

Ever so quietly, HOF has continued giving. Just this summer they donated another Chevy. Without fanfare they give Dodge after Chevy…after Dodge. This kind of Goodness is about more than just money. In so giving,

Heritage Office Furnishings practices careful fleet management.

Earth care is part of the gift. Our agents endeavor to employ green practices in vehicle recycling and re-selling.

Car, truck, and van donation supports other local business. Our agents, coast-to-coast, serve in your backyards.

Canadian charities geared toward animal protection are supported. Again and again! Every donated unit is looked at individually. The donor receives a free tow. The charity receives the net proceeds from the re-sale or recycling of the car, truck, van, or motorcycle.

Commitment to animal protection

Heritage Office Furnishings has championed one charity many times. In fact, when we first joined efforts, this charity was not even on our receiving list!

The Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS) can be your charity of choice thanks to this company!

RAPS

The Regional Animal Protection Society is all about critter care.

“Our dream is to provide a community where no stray cats roam the streets. All animals should be loved and respected, and have lifelong homes.”

The RAPS Cat Sanctuary was built in order to rescue homeless and abandoned cats and kittens. It is now one of the largest cat safe havens in North America. The Sanctuary provides a safe permanent home to hundreds of feral, abandoned, and surrendered cats. It is maintained by about 200 volunteers who create a loving, clean, comfortable, and safe home for the cats.

All of the cats are treated at the RAPS Animal Hospital. This is one of the largest not-for-profit animal hospitals in Canada. RAPS believes that every life is a valuable life.

VOKRA

This June (with donation number 17, if you can imagine!), HOF selected a different charity. The happy recipient-to-be?

VOKRA – the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association. Their mission? To end kitten homelessness one trap at a time.

“At VOKRA our mission is to end cat overpopulation and homelessness. One of the ways we’re helping accomplish this is through to Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), the process of trapping feral cats, spaying or neutering them, and then returning them to the location they came from. Trapping these cats and kittens is the first step towards finding them their furever homes.“

Your company can help

Home Office Furnishings is a rare company! They are so generous! Working with them since 2015 has been an honor.

Does your business have an unused or unwanted car, truck, or van to donate? Do you, personally? The giving process is simple! Within 10 – 15 minutes, we will gather your details. You can choose from our list of over 1,000 Canadian charities! Your tow is free!

The charity you love will receive the net proceeds from the re-sale or recycling of your car, truck, or van. They will then send you (or your business) a tax receipt for that amount.

Inspired by HOF and ready to jump right in? ‘Already have an cause in mind? Your charity is waiting, and we’re here to help!
