Have you got the bug already? That not-so-quiet chittering in the back of your mind that’s rallying the cry to clean out the cupboards, dust out the corners, and organize the garage? Spring cleaning is top of mind as we settle in with our first Spring snow storm in Alberta.

Spring Cleaning — Gettin’ it done around the house

Companies abound to help with our many tasks as cleaning and organizational gurus blog, Youtube, and publish books on how we can get a little peace of mind by sorting through the sock drawer.

If you’re looking for a start to your own Spring cleaning venture, Good Housekeeping can give you a nudge in the right direction in almost every corner of your home.

Your “second home” | Spring cleaning tips for your car

What about outside the four walls of the house? You spend so much time chauffeuring, commuting, and connecting with loved ones in your home-on-wheels, and Wheels.ca can help with the how-tos of getting that home away from home in top shape for the season.

‘Ready to do more than just clean the stuff you have?

If you’re ready to clear the driveway altogether, or just need an unused vehicle removed from the garage, consider donating to one of Canada’s far-reaching charities. Your “junk” really can become another person’s treasure, and we’re here to help with the clean-up!

We make this bit of spring cleaning simple, cheerful, and free.

First, get a quick start by clicking the red button below. It will take you to our donation form. Just a few minutes and you’ll be on your way to a free tow. ‘Looking for human connection? Call us at 1-877-250-4904 where you’ll have the chance to talk with a funny, savvy, caring human!

Then, just wait for your phone to ring. That will be the tow agent calling to arrange tow timing that suits you best.

Finally, watch your inbox. The tax receipt from your charity of choice will land there once we have processed payment for your donated vehicle.

Wherever possible, we re-sell donated vehicles (as-is, to the highest bidder). Where needed, we recycle them. Either way, your chosen charity (you really can choose ANY Canadian charity!) will receive the net proceeds from the processing of your donated van, truck, SUV, car, or motorcycle.

Spring cleaning with a generous flare! We can’t wait to serve you well…

Vehicle donor stories are as funny, fabulous, and heart-warming as the donors themselves. Everyone who opts to give in this way has a personal reason for their generosity. It may be as simple as the need to clear out the garage; it is often about honouring the human, or cause, they care most about.

Donor stories reflect the personality of Canadian generosity

Gary donated his Toyota Tercel for The Knowledge Network:

“The donation experience was easy and expeditious. Your timely and clear emails made the process straight forward so there was no need to talk to your staff.

Taylor, the SMC tow man, was absolutely great. He phoned immediately and appeared exactly between 10 and 12 AM on the designated day. He was friendly, helpful, and sympathetic to our loss of a car that never quit over 26 years. As he drove away, he must have seen that we were taking pictures, and a brawny arm waved good-bye from the driver’s window. He turned a hapless accident into a rather sweet experience. Thanks all around.”

We raised $821.50 for the Canadian Red Cross when Jean donated her VW Tiguan. It was important to her that we know,

“A myriad of issues: Engine light is on – it’s apparently to do with the environmental filtering; the shocks have cracks in them, still work, but might need replacing soon; the airbag light has been on for a while; the clock spring appears to be broken – none of the steering electronics work, including the horn; there is significant rust forming on the driver’s side door; the windshield has a small chip/crack where a rock flew into it; the rear windshield wiper has broken off; given the valuation, the repairs would cost more than the car is worth.

IT CAN BE DRIVEN AT PRESENT, so long as the battery gets a jump. But with no working horn, I don’t think it is technically road-worthy. Note: I’m also donating the summer tires (which are in the backseat). The winter tires are on the car.”

Short and to-the-point donor stories

“We would rather donate it than fix it.” 2014 Ford F-150 for the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation

“I want my donation to go to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.” This 2010 Toyota Yaris donor’s charity choice was story in itself. They were the IRSSS’s first vehicle donor. Thanks to their gift we were able to add the charity to our own drop-down list.

“I was in the process of rebuilding it as it is a vintage vehicle. The engine turns over beautifully and all the parts are there.” This donor’s 1958 Cadillac Seville was auctioned for the Action Coalition on Human Trafficking Alberta Association.

A Suzuki Grand Vitara donor for Habitat for Humanity donor noted, “Very happy to have helped.” And help she did! Her vehicle was auctioned for a $2030.87 donation!

Long(er) and full-of-heart donor stories

“Dear Donate a Car Canada:
The towing gentleman was wonderful!! Very understanding and helpful. He
showed great consideration and care attaching her to the tow truck.
He also allowed my brother & I to say our goodbyes.
He understood my feelings of sadness of letting go of a vehicle which has
been an important part of my life.
Good vehicles are easy to find but when you find a great vehicle it becomes
a part of you. She was a member of my family.
He is a wonderful, thoughtful man. Please thank him for me.
I am thankful for Donate A Car Canada as I know “Subbie” is going to a
great cause.
It is comforting to know the proceeds are going to the Cancer Society.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. God Bless you all.” ~ 2008 Subaru Forester donor for the Canadian Cancer Society

Then, a 2012 Hyundai Genesis Sedan wrote,

“The Genesis is in good condition. No mechanical issues, good visual condition, no rust showing.

As mentioned, the car has been sitting a while and battery is dead. It might start with a boost, but unlikely given the time.

I also include a complete set of snow tires on rims. Tires (Michelin) somewhat worn down, but still useful.

The tires currently on are all seasons and in great shape.

I maintained it very well over the years. There are no mechanical issues, and there is no rust. It has just been sitting for a while. It just needs another battery if it does not boost.

I would certainly hope that it can be sold at auction.”

And sold at auction it was! The donation outcome? A whopping $5357.90 for the Canadian Institute for Advancements in Mental Health!

It’s time to add your very own donor story

Follow us on our socials (we’re on Face Book and Instagram) to connect with the hundreds of happy vehicle donors there. Better yet? Donate a car, truck, van, SUV, or motorcycle today! The tow is free, and you’ll receive a tax receipt for the net proceeds of the re-sale or recycle of your vehicle.

We’re a click or a call (1-877-250-4904) away and we can’t wait to work with you on behalf of the charity you love!

Feeling a little overwhelmed by it all? Noticing that you are actively looking for ways to live the simple life because everything everywhere just feels nutso? In some ways, that’s harder than we imagine. On the other hand, it can be much easier than we think!

Streamlining the simple life one donor at a time

A 2006 Ford Escape donor recently reminded us of the value of seeking out the simple life:

“I had this car for 6 years, difficult for me to part with it now, just
difficult to continue paying insurance and find a place to park. This car
has taken me to many places without breaking down, truly appreciated the
service I received.”

Letting go of a beloved vehicle is not easy. It can be emotional. Some donors say that it’s like losing a member of the family.

And, sometimes letting go of a complicating factor in full and overwhelming lives brings a sigh of relief. This is made so much easier when you know that the letting go will aid a good cause.

Our Ford Escape donor added a layer of goodness to his gift by naming a charity that was new to us! He chose Life Water as his charity of choice. In no time, we had the charity set up and ready to receive donations from future vehicle donors!

ps: We help charities live the simple life, too! There are no costs or tasks for the charity in this process. From donation to tax receipt, the charity is looked after.

Why donate instead of selling privately?

Another comment we have been hearing from donors for our twenty years in vehicle donation support? “I was going to sell it privately, but…”:

But I just don’t have time to spend on this right now. Life is so busy!

But it is such a hassle to deal with tire-kickers! There are so few interested buyers and so many wasted hours spent on cranks.

But I’m settling out the rest of the estate. I just needed one thing to be easy, painless.

But I really just want to do something good for the charity I love!

Like our Ford Escape donor, they know something about balancing the stresses of life and the wish to live a simple, generous life.

The simple life made a little simpler – one free tow at a time

Every donated vehicle is assessed for either re-sale or recycle. The effort is to re-sell whenever possible; we endeavor to raise the highest donation possible for the donor’s charity of choice. This ensures the strongest tax receipt for the donor, too! While we do not typically see Blue/Black Book values on our re-sales, we do see strong monetary returns that reflect the spread in the used vehicle market at the time of donation.

One of ways we ensure simplicity, speed, and no-cost support is fabulous agent care. Donors receive a call to arrange tow support within 48 hours of the time of donation. Then, having set up a time convenient to the donor, they provide free tow support.

If you take a peep at our socials and Google Reviews you’ll see the relief and gratitude this inspires!

If you’re looking for one thing to be quick, easy, and free in your life, we’re here to make it happen. We can’t wait to see your vehicle submission!

“I’m just calling to get more information about your program — are you a scam?” The short answer is, “No,” and we’re glad you asked! Car donation scams, like all sorts of other online peculiarities, are out there.

A bit about Donate a Car Canada

Donate a Car Canada is an Alberta-based business that has been in operation for over two decades. We work on behalf of any charity in Canada — all across the country. That’s right! We serve in every province! Our role is to help you turn your donation-ready car, truck, van, SUV, or motorcycle into a monetary gift for your charity of choice.

We do this by assigning the vehicle to our cooperating agents for your free tow service. We work with recyclers, re-sellers, and auction house/re-sale agents. The vehicle is sold as-is to the highest bidder, or as scrap metal/parts.

If your interested, you can check us out at the Better Business Bureau. Many of our receiving charities will welcome a call to reassure of our long-standing care and integrity, too!

Car donation scams: how can I tell?

Big promises are a big red flag! A good thing to look out for in vetting a program’s legitimacy is the dollar value they’re offering: does it reflect the market?

The metal market goes up and down — a lot! The weight of the metal in a compact car is different from a truck, or a van. A vehicle donation program should be paid out based on that value. Parts also add value, for some kinds of vehicles. By the time the scrap yard working with you drains the fluids, takes care of the tires, strips the saleable parts, and crushes the car, they may be out of pocket.

You can also ask yourself:

How long has the program been around?

Can I find online reviews (good and bad)?

Is the program open about how fees are applied?

Can I talk to a real person to get answers about my concerns? How is their customer service?

If you can comfortably answer these questions, you may find yourself in very good hands!

What do I do first?

Canada is home to very few reputable vehicle donation programs, Donate a Car Canada being one of them. A quick phone call to the agency promising to process your car, truck, or van for donation is a safe first step! If they’re legitimate they will be able to provide clear answers about how they arrive at the numbers they are offering. Furthermore, you might want to actually visit the charity website that you wish to donate to: the option to donate a vehicle to them should be discoverable on their actual website.

Your phone calls and email queries are welcome here! Our experienced staff are in daily contact with agents from coast to coast. These folks know the industry well and can typically spot car donation scams a mile away. They also want to see your donation dollars maxed. Working on behalf of the charities our neighbors across Canada love? That’s ultimately what this is about.

‘Got questions about our program, or our charities? Interested in going ahead with a donation? Call in to 1-877-250-4904, or click the big red button below…

Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to make 2026 a year of living well (and vibrantly!) through simple helpfulness.

What your tiny actions can do to keep your spirit strong

Did you know that small, seemingly mundane rituals and structured activities boost our spirits? And, when we let go of small rituals, our mood can flag. Getting out of bed, having a cup of tea, sending a routine text to a friend. These small, daily, habits are important in bolstering our sense of self and purpose.

“Purpose” can feel a bit overwhelming. It’s such a broad and intangible pursuit. In Japan, they simplify this by replacing the language of, “Find your purpose,” to something more like, “Be useful to someone today.”

Why does this matter? Because when we have even a small mission of extending helpfulness or kindness, it helps life feel more full. Rich. Alive.

Expanding our lungs; expanding our mission

Keeping things simple and sustainable is really important when we are living this kind of mission rich life. If we add one thing to, “Be useful to someone today,” it might be, “Just notice!”

There are all kinds of names for the ritual of noticing. The Examine. Gratitude. Meditation. In short, it is a practice of being wonderstruck. Attentive to moments of awe. Taken up with gratitude. We become aware of a raindrop on a leaf, the warmth of a coffee mug on a chilly day, or the light of the sun on the building across the street. Tiny moments where, when we pause to pay attention, we notice that we feel alive.

Bring that same attention into your acts of human kindness? Well, it’s an experiment worth trying! Is there anything more enlivening than lending a hand?

Being useful comes in all shapes and sizes

The mission of simply being one who does Good when it’s called for isn’t meant to be overwhelming. Some of us are destined for notoriety and fame and next-level wealthy philanthropic gestures.

But most of us? We’re just simple folx living pretty tiny lives. Simply doing something helpful for someone is meant to be a replicable act! Hold a door. Acknowledge the name on a nametag at the grocery check out. Clear out the dishwasher.

Excess and unused clothing in the closet? Share with your local shelters. ‘Have a stack of old cell phones sitting in a drawer. Re-set them and donate them to a safehouse. Is there an old car just sitting in the back parking pad? Donate it for the charity you love.

When there is no money to spare, consider donating your skill or your time. Simply give what you can, where you can, when you can. If that’s talent or toys or tinkering — it all counts!

Imagine a world where every human made this their personal mission! We can do it. C’mon — let’s do it!

Happy New Year from our DAC Team to you and yours! Is 2026 a year of New Year’s Resolutions? We may be able to help.

This is do-able!

For a solid article on how to get those resolutions off on the right track this year, check out, Achievement unlocked! Use science to keep your new year’s resolutions. (Linda Geddes, December 6 2015, from The Guardian)

“…for behaviour change to occur, people must have the capability, opportunity and motivation to make it happen. Often people aren’t making resolutions for the right reasons, says Gardner: “They think that because it’s new year, they’re obliged to say they’ll change their behaviour. But once they face the reality of what they’re doing, they give up because they aren’t motivated enough in the first place.”

The article goes on to note,

“Say 20(25) is the year you plan to write a novel. First, you need to identify good situations in which to initiate your writing: it could be whenever your partner goes out to their gym class. But you also need to plan what to do if your best friend calls and suggests you meet for lunch instead. Gollwitzer calls this “if-then planning”: if X happens, then I will do Y.

If this, then that

…people are two to three times more likely to achieve their goals if they use an “if-then” plan; this goes for all sorts of goals, from weight loss to using more public transport.”

Your new year’s resolutions may just the thing to tackle some questionable habits that need a little re-working. If that’s the case, here’s to your strong success in 2017!

And in defense of a little peace of mind…

On the other hand,

“…Sometimes there’s a very good reason why we’re not slimmer/fitter/richer/nicer than we already are. And that’s because, if we’re completely honest with ourselves, we don’t really need to be.“

What if we begin this new year with an aim to be kind and curious? Kind and curious about our own peculiarities. Curious and kind about the differences between ourselves and each other!

Perhaps we can set to a year of being a little awe-struck by the rarities we find in the world. Nothing will disarm judgment and hatred more quickly than wonder and curiosity.

Let your own instinctive generosity be your guide

Just this past Christmas season we had some of the best 5 star feedback! It was a reminder of what inspires us to do the work we do year after year. A donor for the Alzheimer Society wrote,

“‘Donate a Car Canada’! What a wonderful collection of folks to deal with – a high class institution. The whole transaction was, without a doubt…one of those nice experiences in life without stress or drama. The car was donated to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Very much appreciated all the terrific people I interacted with, too…Thank you so much!!!”

With over 80,000 Canadian charities working to serve the people of Canada year ’round, starting 2026 with a resolve to help them keep helping is generous indeed!

Vehicle donation is just one way to do that, of course. As the calendar flips to 2026, check in with the charities you love and sow seeds of support, goodness, and lovingkindness. If we do anything self-helpy in the year ahead, let it be a united resolve to simply do a little good, a little at a time.

Whatever your situation, may 2026 be a year of peace, good health, and much love for you and yours!

Christmas Carol was an early holiday reminder: I am a woman of a certain age. As the number attached to that age mounts, my faculties may…er…alter in direct proportion. As will my partner’s. If Carol is any indication, shopping shenanigans will be one of our new Christmas joys.

Christmas Carol loses her way

As a woman of a certain age, I spend a lot of time using public wash facilities. Thursday last was no exception. Ducking out of the busy mall hubub, I was tending to business when the restroom air was pierced with an urgent, “Carol?!”

Nothing.

Louder, “CAROL??!”

No response.

“CAROL??!!”

Heading to the sink I spotted the source of these outcries. A beautiful and concerned woman-who-is-also-of-a-certain-age (with strikingly purple-on-white hair, perfectly cut) looked at me expectently, “Are you Carol?”

“I’m not. And you’ve lost your Carol?”

“No, not me; there’s an elderly gentleman waiting outside that says his wife came in here 30 minutes ago, and she hasn’t come back out!”

I ditch the sass and join the hunt. Me, and a sprightly mosaic of woman of all sorts. We’re banging loo doors open and each urging “Carol!” to respond to her name. I head into the nursing mama room, asking if anyone there happens to be our (she belongs to the mosaic of searchers now) Carol? Two patiently exhausted mommies look up with concern and denial.

I meander out to meet Carol’s hubby, ask a few questions (Does she have a cell phone? What is she wearing? Is she ill/is it usual for her to wander off? And many other nosey things that one ought never presume to ask a stranger.). He’s determined: she went into the bathroom 30 minutes ago and she never came out. And even if she had come out, she would have “stayed right here to wait for me.”

But Carol isn’t in the loo, and she isn’t “right here,” and Hubby has her cell phone and purse in hand.

A helpful mall employee goes to get security.

Securing the perimeter

Our mosaic of Christmas Carol seekers is hovering and caring and wondering. Some span out into the (massive!) food court with a sort-of description of our gal. Some keep re-searching the washroom, as if she might resurface there like last night’s eggnog.

I hover un-helpfully beside Hubby and await Security.

The security guard arrives promptly, clutching his hand-held two-way radio and blinking his bewilderment. The wizened fellow (of a certain age at least matching, if not significantly surpassing that of our confused husband and his missing wife) is baffled. What to do?

Hubby recounts his tale and asks, “Could you try to page her?”

The guard is sober-faced-reluctant, “Ooooooh. Well, now. We like to do that through Guest Services…you said she went into the women’s washroom? Half an hour ago.”

“Yes. But she’s not there now.”

“No?”

“No.”

“Well, if she’s not there, she could be somewhere else…?” He emphasizes these words carefully, as if hoping his understanding of the situation will clear things right up for all of us.

Hubby stares calmly and perplexedly at the guard. The guard fidgets and wanders and wonders. Everyone is baffled.

Christmas Carol found

Suddenly, a few of us gals spot a woman on the far side of the food court. She’s waving frantically in our direction, her arms making broadly sweeping arcs, her perfectly appointed white outfit flapping with angel-wing-like urgency. Purple-haired-gal and I look hopefully at each other, and then at Hubby: “There! Is that your Carol?”

Hopeful, then dashed, Hubby shakes his head no (leaving us wondering who on earth she might be and why she’s gesturing so passionately in our direction) and then, there she is! His Carol. Diminutive and bespectacled, Carol is charging at a rollicking pace up the food court aisle and directly toward Hubby,

“WHERE have you been?? I’ve been looking all over for you!”

Hubby, maintaining precisely the same placid calm he’s shown throughout, murmurs, “Well, right here where you left me, of course.”

The security guard and Hubby exchange a few pleasantries while Christmas Carol bothers and fusses and recriminates. And purple-haired-beauty and I turn to go.

The gift that keeps on giving

Suddenly the security guard is at our elbow(s), radio clamped tightly in nervous fingers, relief flooding his face, “Thank you! Thank you for waiting this out.” And just as he says this, a new player, Hubby #2 — equally perplexed and searching — sidles up sheepishly to say, “Excuse me, but I can’t find my wife…”

The look on that poor security guard’s face! Disbelief. Confusion. A sort of, Is this really a thing we’re going to do this shopping season? bafflement. But just as we’re about to launch a second search, Angel-wing Lady from across the food court comes puffing up to Hubby #2, “Here, Dear! I’m right here!” There are shrugs and grins and congratulations, all around, and everyone’s shopping is right back on track.

This twenty minute visit from the Ghost of Christmas Future was sweet and heart-warming. The speed with which a group of women from every demographic and ethnicity and ilk banded together to seek Carol out made for a gently shared caper. Hubby (well, both hubbys 1 & 2) were kept company and reassured. Mall security got a little work out (with a possible note to put a little procedure in place: if this happened twice in 20 minutes…). And everyone was accounted for at adventure’s end. When my partner and I are in this spot, as we surely will be in just a few years’ time, I trust we’ll be in such generous and capable hands.

Giving Tuesday brings us together

“GivingTuesday is a global movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.” How will you get involved on December 2, 2025?

So many ways to participate this December

Look no further for ways to share this Giving Tuesday! Donate a Car Canada processes donations for any Canadian charity! Each one will offer ways that you can help. Just as you. Where you are. Today!

Many of us are not in a position to give financially. No problem! The smallest acts of kindness bring meaningful relief. Your innate Goodness? It matters! Share it in the way that you are best able. A written note, or a pot of soup. An offer of childcare, or pet sitting. A simple, authentic smile.

‘Have your feet under you and feeling some financial freedom? Canadian charities will put your dollars and cents to excellent work. Caring, skilled men, women, and children are manning the wheel at our charities. What they need more than anything? The finances to keep things in motion. Your financial offering can make such a difference.

On the other hand, some charities will accept gifts-in-kind — that lightly used couch, coat, or pair of shoes will help!

Get Intentional

Give where you feel the love! CanadaHelps is a fabulous resource in selecting charities to support.

The cause that has most-helped you or your loved ones may be just the place to start this Giving Tuesday. If vulnerable pets or our remarkable Canadian wildlife tug at your heartstrings, give them a paw (or talon…or fin) up!

In giving creatively, you might even think about the impact your gift has on more than one level. Giving your lightly used household items, or a vehicle, means practical help to the recipient. That kind of giving does more! It reduces waste and is helpful environmentally. It clears your own space (possibly aiding in your own wellbeing). The benefits touch into your life, the life (lives) of your recipient, and the broader world.

Your Giving Tuesday

We’d love to see you this Giving Tuesday! Pick your charity and do up our quick donation form (it takes less than 10 minutes to fill out). Your charity not on our list? No problem! Just let us know and we’ll direct your gift to the cause you love! We’ll have you set up with your free tow and on your way to a tax receipt in short order!

That free tow will be managed efficiently, and with care. Typically, donated vehicles are picked up within 1 – 3 business days. You’ll be called in advance to ensure timing that suits you well.

The gift on top of the gift in all of this? Just as there is no cost to you, there is no cost to your charity of choice. We are here to ensure this full process is managed on behalf of yourself and your charity so that you can all keep doing what you need to do!

In anticipation of making a big difference together…

The post Giving Tuesday | Your Car, Your Charity of Choice! appeared first on Donate A Car.

Yes I’m being a bit cheeky, but for many of us our animals are our family. One thing that is very apparent for us at Donate A Car Canada, is that Canadians love their pets. It is unconscionable and sad when we discover a pet has been mistreated, lost, or left for dead. They are at our mercy, and when we’ve chosen to care for them it is unthinkable that we’d shirk responsibility to the point of neglect or abuse.

Pooches putting on the miles

One of our donors recently submitted her Hyundai in memory of her beloved pups, Bear and Ralphie. What struck us about her donation and her story, is the understanding that so many treasured memories are created while we are driving our vehicles from here to there. We sometimes don’t value those moments at the time. But we wake up to the beauty of making those memories in due time:

“That car never really belonged to me – it belonged to my dogs. Thank you for your services and helping me make a donation to the Nova Scotia SPCA! It made saying goodbye to it just a little easier. I left a note in the back seat (the above photo) and I’m attaching a copy for you.” ~ Lisa from Nova Scotia

Supporting the orgs that protect our pets

We encourage you to look through the choices to see if there are any that peak your interest. ‘Spot one you love? Consider donating your vehicle to their great cause!

Have you had a similar experience to Lisa? Perhaps you are looking for a meaningful way to honor your beloved furry family member! Donate your unwanted vehicle on behalf of our one of our hard-working animal charities!

Supporting your local SPCA, humane society, or animal shelter through vehicle donation is as simple as 1-2-3!

Fill in an online donation form (this takes less than 10 minutes).

Wait for your phone to ring: that’s the transport guy calling to arrange your free tow!

Finally, watch your inbox. You’ll receive your tax receipt for the net proceeds from the re-sale or recycling of your donated vehicle.

Bear, Ralphie, and countless other feathered, four-legged, toe-beaned critters are counting on you to make a difference! And we’re here to help!

Your used vehicle can save a life, further research, or feed the hungry! Every donated car, truck, van, SUV, or motorcycle makes a meaningful difference!

Your used vehicle (and you!) can become part of the solution

Have you had the experience of watching the news (aka: Doom Scrolling) and feeling overwhelmed? Sometimes all we need do is see a tragic headline and we feel overwhelmed. There is happy news! You can change that feeling of powerlessness into a sense of purpose!

J.S. discovered this when they donated their 2010 Nissan Sentra for the Alberta Cancer Foundation. As with every donated vehicle, their car was assessed. We determined that, despite its age and high mileage (almost 300,000 kms!), it was a good fit for auction. Buyers on sale day thought so too! Just like that, $2550.60 was raised for the ACF!

CancerCare Manitoba was also the happy recipient of an auction-ready car donation! M.B. donated his 2006 Chrysler 300. It sold for a whopping $1005.00 donation for the cancer charity!

Your car, your caring, your charity of choice

$1100.02 was raised for community services in Laurel’s town thanks to her 2002 Pontiac Sunfire donation!

$1306.70 was donated to a homeless shelter when Kerrie donated their Volvo.

James donated his 2009 Subaru and it was auctioned for $3781.95 for his faith-based charity of choice.

And we’re not done, yet!

The Ontario SPCA was recipient of a very unique “vehicle” donation. Dot donated her eBike. A donation of $734.65 was the generous result!

Lastly (for this story’s sake), G.W. donated their Honda Fit for the ALS Society — for a gift of $2215.90!

As you’ve guessed by now, these are just a handful of examples of the generous outcomes we see every month here at Donate a Car Canada.

Used vehicle donation is a simple, quick, free process!

So, you can see! You can make a difference by donating to your charity of choice. Whether it is re-sold, or recycled, every car counts and the tow is always free.

We’ll take care of all of the details on your behalf.

First, fill in an online donation form.

Then, wait for your phone to ring. That will be the tow crew calling to arrange your free tow.

Lastly, watch your inbox for your tax receipt. If that used vehicle is just taking up space in the yard, consider turning it into valuable donation dollars.

If that used vehicle is just taking up space, then donate it! You’re sure to make a difference in someone’s (or some critter’s) life today.
