Fiona will not have the final roar out on the East Coast! Emergency crews, government agencies, and charities alike are rallying to support residents.

You can partner with these groups! Most of us cannot get to the flood zones ourselves, but each of us can do our part in extending the best of what it is to be Canadian in tough times.

Reach out to the charity you love to see how they are already involved. ‘Need a little direction about who is doing what? We have a host of charities who make it their heartwork to offer emergency aid around the world. Some of them have boots on the ground on our Coast today. If your charity is not on our list, no problem! We are set up to serve ANY Canadian charity!

Fiona aid charities accept cars for donation

At a glance, we have learned that The Salvation Army and the Canadian Red Cross are already on site. It is only a matter of time until more helping hands arrive to offer shelter, clear debris, and help rebuild.

You may be in a position to join crews directly responding to Fiona and her wake. More likely, you find yourself far from our Eastern shore and unsure of what to do to help. We offer a means of helping share strong donation dollars! Not only that, both yourself and our environment will benefit.

Building your faith based heartwork

When giving to your own faith tradition is one of your core values, we can help. We process car, truck, van, and SUV donations mission and ministry works every month.

We do this be either re-selling or recycling your donated vehicle. Re-sale happens one of two ways: the car is auctioned, or it is re-sold via a private agent. This is managed as-is, to the highest bidder. Explore our socials and you’ll see that we see some hearty returns via this method!

Recycling is the method we use for cars that are ready to come off the road. The donation outcome varies from province to province and is subject to the market. Many of our agents have been serving in this way for more than 10 years! They work hard to ensure we see the highest dollar outcomes possible for your charity.

Donating to your faith work is simple, quick, and joyful! Our online form will take you less than 10 minutes to complete. You can call in if you prefer to talk to a friendly human! Once we have your information we’ll get you set up with your free tow. The agent will help with all particulars related to registration/ownership, and they will send us payment for the vehicle in a timely manner. From there it’s just a matter of time until we disburse your donation to your charity of choice!

If the cause you love is missing from our list, no problem! You will be given the opportunity to name your preferred charity. We will connect with them and get them set up to receive ongoing donations in this way (if they wish to be part of the offering)!

How much do Cadillac donations raise?

Donated vehicles are not all valued equally. The year, make, model, and condition of a car or truck affects the donation outcome. The region of Canada from which is is donated also affects the dollar amount. This flexibility in process and region means we’re not restricted to one set donation outcome!

Cadillac donations often raise donations over $500.00. If the car is recycled, the donation outcome can be anywhere up to $300.00, depending on the factors noted above.

Who (actually) gets my gift money?

A quick glance at our donations since August shows just how diverse Canadian Cadillac donations are!

Each vehicle donor is provided clear communication about how their donated car or truck will be processed. The full net proceeds of their vehicle donation are forwarded to their charity of choice.

There is no trickery here. Donate a Car Canada is a small Alberta business. For that reason, we do take fees for each donated vehicle. Our company operates on a lean budget. Morever, we have functioned as a work-from-home business long before that was a COVID necessity. It saves on many costs to do so. For this reason, and others, we keep our own costs to a minimum.

Is it really worth it for me?

The charities noted above received gifts of between $85.00 up to over $9,000.00 from the cars donated here. That is, the Cadillac donations resulted in $85.00, $500.00+, $800.00+, $9,000.00+, etc.

As you consider the cause you care about, you can appreciate that these dollars add up quickly! Because we offer both recycling and re-sale, Donate a Car Canada is not restricted to a set donation outcome. Your Cadillac is uniquely valued at the time of donation. This is managed by agents well-versed in the current market. These agents have regional buyer bases. Furthermore, they have ‘vested interest in seeing strong donation outcomes.

Motorcycle donation |charity choice

DACC prides herself on choice of charity. Your donated vehicle can bring about a monetary gift on behalf of any one of thousands of Canadian charities.

One of our summer donors donated not one, but two motorcycles! The donation was facilitated by a family loved-one as part of an estate settlement (Yes! We can assist with this, too!). Their charity of choice? The Salvation Army.

How much will my motorcyle raise?

When our summer donor asked herself, “Should I donate my motorcyle?” she was not yet savvy to our process. We see motorcycles in a variety of conditions wind their way into our hearts. She had no way of knowing just how honoring of her loved one this process would be!

If a motorbike is recycle ready, our donation returns are on the low end. Recycle vehicle value is determined by the scrap metal and parts that can be taken from the vehicle. A motorcycle does not have much left to give at the end of its driveable life.

Our donor’s estate double donation did not fit into the recycle-ready category! Rather, we were able to send both ‘bikes to auction for as-is sale to the highest bidder.

Auctioning for charity

If I opt to donate my motorcyle and the ‘bike is auctioned, our free tow/pick-up service applies. This is a Donate a Car Canada sure-thing.

Once the motorcycle is on site at auction, it will be entered into the promotion process. The auction house may post the ‘bike on their website, or talk it around to always-interested buyers. Currently, COVID-19 has altered the sale-bid process. With more auctions moving on-line, that process is becoming more robust. You might now search, view, and bid on your hoped-for ride from the comfort of your couch.

This process was a solid win for this family’s estate!

Their two-motorcycle donation resulted in a donation of over $5,000.00 for The Salvation Army!

Should I donate my motorcycle?

Motorcycle donation is a seasonal affair here at DACC: Spring and Summer are our donation windows for ‘bikes. This is simply because that’s when the buyer base is strongest, and we can ensure the strongest possible donation outcome for your charity. It’s best if the motorbike is running and in good condition. This allows us to re-sell the ‘bike. Again, this results in a higher return for the cause you love. Some agents (in some parts of Canada) will accept recycle-ready ‘cycles. It’s always worth asking about!

This is an easy decision for some: we give from the heart to the causes that make our hearts leap! Where the money goes is top-of-mind for others. Above all, give where there will be the best bang for our giving buck.

Maclean’s ezine article, “Coronavirus: Where to donate and how to help Canada’s most vulnerable,” offers concise and valuable direction. If you’re looking to donate specifically to needs arising from the pandemic, this article will help!

Many of the charities noted in on their break-out lists are charities that we work to support daily. Note the Canadian Mental Health Association, The Salvation Army, and Food Banks Canada. These are on the short-list for monetary donation. Further, SOS Children’s Villages and Kids Help Phone are high on the list.

Concerned for the personal safety of women and children in violent domestic situations, consider donating. The Canadian Women’s Foundation, Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter, and your own local shelter need you.

Similarly, we have seen how aggressively COVID-19 has impacted our Canadian seniors. The Alzheimer Society in your province needs your giving dollars now.

Canadians are all affected

As you’ll see in the Maclean’s article, these quick acknowledgments skim the surface. We should state that impact has rippled to all sectors of our society. Consider gifting indigenous causes, or, turn your attention toward those with special needs. ‘Just plum tuckered out thinking about your fellow human? Why not consider a gift to any of our animal charities? It will be welcome!

The Salvation Army – Car donors’ heartwork

Doing a work like the Salvation Army justice with words is hard to do — their reach is long and their impact true. They are all about love in action with “hearts to God, and hands to man!” A visit to their website will show the scope of their work as they reach toward suffering, provide counselling, aid in disaster relief, and fill hungry bellies.

Hope Stories inspire, and their Youtube channel compels to action. Our vehicle donors would agree! Many select the Salvation Army as their charity of choice when gifting a car or truck.

Donated ’72 Chevelle Raises Big Dollars

One of our donors donated his 1972 Chevelle. She was pretty rusted out underneath and the engine had seen a bit of weather. That didn’t stop auction buyers! They gave the car more than a second glance and a gift of $1400.00 went to the charity as a result!

Where does your compassion steer you? Toward a donation? Providing work for ready hands, offering mental health support, or just extending a hand up? The Salvation Army has opportunity for you. Your heart, your hands, their direction. Big impact!
