We are absolute superfans of everything from floating Nutella to pigtails framed by out-of-this-world space pics! Artemis II and her crew are an admirable blend of competency, humility, and pure joy. The best of humans doing something extraordinary. With splashdown now a happy success, it’s time to revel in the wonder of what has just been accomplished.

How Artemis II and her crew inspire

As I write these few words about inspiring humans, I’m getting a little education on how the Artemis II crew is to be transported from their craft to the medical bay. They’re about to fill their lungs with Earth air once again. Feet firmly planted on our little orb, they’ll turn their attention toward helping their bodies readjust to the pull of gravity.

The crew is comprised of Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen (Oh, Canada!). If you’re like me, you’ve likely been a bit taken up with the many messages that have been beamed down to us from journey. Messages of integrity, togetherness, compassion, and achievement.

Waiting hopefully-expectantly for them to safely poke their noses out into Earth’s sea air feels like we’re, somehow, all connected by those messages.

Messages like…

Koch: “We will explore. We will build.” She goes on, “We will build ships. We will visit again.” Then, “We will construct science outposts. We will drive rovers.” And, “We will do radio astronomy. We will found companies.” Finally, “We will bolster industry. We will inspire. But ultimately, we will always choose Earth. We will always choose each other.”

Then, Glover: “Trust us, you look amazing, you look beautiful. And from up here, you also look like one thing. Homo sapiens, all of us, no matter where you’re from or what you look like, we’re all one people.“

Hansen: “As we surpass the furthest distance humans have ever traveled from planet Earth, we do so in honoring the extraordinary efforts and feats of our predecessors in human space exploration. We will continue our journey even further into space before Mother Earth succeeds in pulling us back to everything that we hold dear. But we most importantly choose this moment to challenge this generation and the next to make sure this record is not long-lived.”

And lastly, Wiseman: “No matter how long we look at this, our brains are not processing this image in front of us. It is absolutely spectacular, surreal. I know there’s no adjectives. I’m going to need to invent some new ones to describe what we are looking at out this window.”

Our global community and reaching for the stars

The Artemis II mission is, these intrepid explorers have often noted, the outcome of ingenuity and effort be hundreds of people. People working together in concert, across nations. Then putting ingenuity and effort into inspirational execution.

(As I write, mission control has taken the microphone. In the background you can hear the cacophony of humanity working, waiting, expecting, and thinking ahead. Furthermore, even as they await the transport of The Four via army transport helicopters to med support, mission control is already talking about missions yet to come!)

Artemis missions “to the moon and beyond” will be the effort of women and men around the world.

Beyond Artemis II

Jubilation has just broken out at mission control as the first crew member emerged from Integrity. The rousing and inspiring success of this mission will compel the NASA program forward for decades to come.

Our Canadian representative on board, Jeremy Hansen, has proven to be a joyful sage at every grip of the mic. Leading up to departure, and in flight, his commentary has been both playful and evocative. Instructing us to “live in our integrity,” he often notes the Anishinaabe seven sacred teachings (respect, love, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility, truth) that are represented on his flight patch.

These are values we can all lean into, hey? These are the values that pulse through humanity — the very best of who we are in individually, and in community. The very best of who we can be even while our feet are firmly planted on terra firma. Hansen’s gentle challenge to himself, then to his children, and out beyond to all of us, is to live deeply into the best of who we all can be. A sage call to lovingkindness that resounds, now, to the moon and back.

Donating cars for Canadian charities is a multi-benefit process! Charity, donor, local business, and environment are all winners when you donate your vehicle.

Donating cars serves donor, community, and caring causes

There are a number of questions that folx ask when considering donating cars:

How fast can you get here?

Is my vehicle acceptable?

How much is my tax receipt?

Well, first, our transport agents will get to you lickity-split! Many donors express surprise at how quickly and efficiently they receive their free tow. On the other hand, if you need some time, no problem! The agent will happily put things on pause until you are ready to proceed.

Second, yes! Recycle-ready vehicles make great donations! Some of our supporting agents do require that there be four tires in place. These don’t need to be in great shape — even spares will do just fine. The agents simply need to be able to roll things to the yard in a safe and cost effective manner. Of course, if there are missing parts, the scrap donation outcome may be reduced as agents determine value, in part, based on curb weight.

We either re-sell, or recycle, vehicles. Here’s more on that…

More about how your tax receipt is determined

1) If your vehicle is selected for our recycle process, the donation amount for a vehicle can be between $30.00 – $800.00. This is dependent on the area in which it is donated, and what the market will pay for the year/make/model. The vehicle will be picked up by our towing agent at no cost to you.

2) Your vehicle may be considered for sale at auction. Several factors go into qualifying a vehicle for auction. These include, but are not limited to, drivability, type of mechanical problems (if any), age, damage, visual appearance, and mileage.

Vehicles sold at auction are sold ‘as is’ and ‘unreserved’. They are sold to the highest bidder, as a full and final sale. Outcome at auction varies. As such, we cannot guarantee a specific sale result. That said, it is no unusual to see thousands of dollars sent to charities of choice when donating cars and auction sales align!

3) Our third option applies to vehicles that may not perform well at auction, but that are not ready for recycling. Our re-sale/recycle process will see our agent pick up your vehicle for free.

Once they have it on their yard they will assess it to determine if it should be re-sold or recycled. This will be based on the current market. If they see re-sale value in your vehicle, they will advertise it to their own buyer base, selling it as-is, to the highest bidder. They will send us the net proceeds from the re-sale price. If they determine that they will not find interested buyers, they will recycle your car.

Our experience tells us that we do not always see Blue/Black book value when we employ the re-sale process. That said, if you explore our social media posts you’ll see that we routinely see vehicles sell for thousands of dollars in donation returns for the donors’ charities!

The less visible benefits of donating cars

Donating cars benefits charities, to be sure. Every coin counts and your vehicle donation really piles up those coins! A tidy-sum tax receipt is always a bonus at tax time, too. But there are benefits the go beyond the bank, as well!

Environmental impact is one such bonus. Safe and clean vehicle removal declutters yards and neighbourhoods. Furthermore, proper disposal of fluids and parts ensures responsible Earth care.

Donate a Car Canada is Canadian through-and-through. We understand that building and sustaining business within your community is important. One of the ways we keep our own cost of business low is by partnering with your local auction yards, re-sale agents, and scrap yards. So, donating cars here keeps as much business local as is economically responsible.

Vehicle. Charity of choice. Community.

Not all Canadians are donating cars. If you need cash in hand, private sale may be the way to go. But if you have an unused, unwanted vehicle? Done with it and want to do good with it? Donating is a multi-goodness way to go!

Holiday cheer is something of a privilege, isn’t it? Canadian generosity of spirit thrums year ’round. At Christmastime, the need of it seems greater than ever.

Holiday cheer is near and dear

Kindness and generosity are at the very heart of charitable giving. They are core to the work we do here, too. If you’re reading this, it’s almost 100% certain that they’re values you hold close as well.

When circumstances around the globe are all politics and danger and want, “cheer” seems a hollow wish. If you are one who experiences poverty, injustice, or inequity here at home, “holiday cheer” might seem a bit of magical thinking for you, too.

When so much is uncertain, returning our attention to simple ways of kindness and generosity of heart can be a life saver!

Tis the season of Fabulous Fundraisers

It’s no secret that volunteering, sharing our resources, and lending a hand are good for our mental health. If you and your family are looking for ways to enrich your Christmas season, look no further than your local charities! You can bet that there are dozens of creative and joyful endeavors happening not too far from you.

Foodbanks are doing food drives. Clothing banks are ready to receive warm coats, socks, toques, and mittens. Shelters are putting out requests for pillows and towels. ‘Better yet? Pack a back pack for the unhoused. Fill it with the essentials needed to make it through the day!

Local charities might have their own gift catalogue. They may have need of a little envelope full of gift cards that they can hand out as need walks through their front doors.

Whatever your preferred expression of kindness, there is a close-by cause ringing in the season with a creative call for help!

Bring holiday cheer home

BBC has a fabulous article highlighting nourishing and joyful Christmas traditions from around the globe. Titled, “The anti-materialist Christmas: Rituals around the world that swap gifts for meaning” (www.BBC.com, December 9, 2025) The author, Laura Hall, notes, “From remembering departed loved ones to leaning into a multi-generational game, here are seven Christmas traditions you can adopt wherever you are.” She goes on to list seven delightful, globally influenced celebrations:

1. Iceland: Reading by candlelight after Christmas dinner

2. Japan: Spoiling your other half

3. Australia: Playing cricket as a household

4. Finland: Visiting the ancestors

5. Ukraine: Celebrating spiders

6. Denmark: Making homemade decorations

7. Venezuela: Getting your skates on

Curiosity sparked? Be sure to give Laura Hall’s article a read! You might just find a Christmas-enhancing addition to your own family holiday.

A wish from ours to yours

For our part here at Donate a Car Canada, we’re here to assist in your generous efforts right on through the season of holiday cheer. With the tiny exception of Christmas Day, we will be at-the-ready to work alongside you on behalf of your charity of choice. As through every season, we offer our deepest gratitude to endlessly generous Canadian vehicle donors. Your Goodness is expressed through estate vehicle donations, scrappy ol’ junker gifts, and madly big-dollar-value auctionable vehicle roll alongs. Together, we raise thousands and thousands of donation dollars for your beloved charities.

Is there a better collaboration? A collaboration of kindness and giving! So, from our little team of hard working elves here at DACC, warmest wishes to you and yours. May you know provision, community, safety, and health. May you be met by generosity yourself, even as you give so selflessly and so often in even the smallest acts of kindness and caring. We wish you a very merry Christmas, indeed!

Vehicle donor generosity is an everyday wonder around here! Let’s start with a B.C. donor whose Honda donation resulted in a $11,855.92 gift for their charity of choice…

West Coast generosity

Jack (not his real name; all names are changed to protect donor confidentiality) wrote in to say, “My Honda has a scrape on the passenger side, but fairly minor. Otherwise there are spots where the paint is flaking, but does not affect running condition. It had a recent oil change, has been serviced regularly.” The mileage was moderate and it was clear the little white car was a great candidate for auction.

There was an extra layer of meaning to Jack’s generosity: he wished to donate to an environmental charity. The charity of choice? The David Suzuki Foundation. And, Wow! Did the DSF ever get a boost to their efforts!

Jack’s Honda was auctioned off in a charity vehicle auction for a gift of $11,855.92!

Every car counts

Not every donated vehicle can be re-sold. In fact, recycle-ready vehicles count for the majority of donations here at Donate a Car Canada. Generosity expressed through rusted out or broken down cars is no less impactful than the big sale outcomes. Every month, dozens of charities benefit from donors who care so much for the wellbeing of those organizations.

One such donor was Jim. He was engaged and excited about honouring his late wife through vehicle donation. When he reached out to donate her vehicle he noted, “My wife passed away two years ago and I know that donating her Jeep was what she wanted. The Odometer number is correct – 337,000! ‘Bertha’ was a beast and my wife could drive her through anything!!

Bertha still runs fine but like any old Jeep she leaks a bit of oil and her brakes are starting to go. Rusted front fender and door scratches and a cracked windshield, but there’s a recently new roof (soft top) and Goodyear Wrangler tires with a ton of mileage left. That being said, ol’ Bertha could be pirated for the above and a good mechanic would love to have a shot at her! 5 speed stick with 4 wheel drive option and heaven help anything that ever hit her solid steel fenders!! If recycled is the best (or only) option that’s fine. It’s where the funds would be going that’s important. My wife was a huge supporter of our military and first responders, particularly the issue many have with PTSD. I know that this is the right thing to honour her memory.“

Bertha was recycled for a donation to Jim’s wife-honouring charity of choice, Wounded Warriors Canada.

The business end of generosity

Sometimes business gets personal! Vehicle donations from Canadian businesses are a unique privilege to process. One Alberta construction crew donated their re-sale ready minivan for a $1,150.10 for the Alberta Cancer Foundation. The owner/donor wrote, “My experience with Donate a car Canada was positive. I would not hesitate to recommend your services. Thank you again for a great experience.”

A custom home builder donated a company truck for a local faith community. More recently, an elevator repair company’s Ford Fiesta raised a donation for the local food bank.

Tuesday, December2nd, Giving Tuesday — Canada’s way of coming together to “create a tidal wave of Hope”! Give time, give kindness, give dollars and cents…or give your unwanted, unused four wheels!

Giving Tuesday brings us together

“GivingTuesday is a global movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.” How will you get involved on December 2, 2025?

So many ways to participate this December

Look no further for ways to share this Giving Tuesday! Donate a Car Canada processes donations for any Canadian charity! Each one will offer ways that you can help. Just as you. Where you are. Today!

Many of us are not in a position to give financially. No problem! The smallest acts of kindness bring meaningful relief. Your innate Goodness? It matters! Share it in the way that you are best able. A written note, or a pot of soup. An offer of childcare, or pet sitting. A simple, authentic smile.

‘Have your feet under you and feeling some financial freedom? Canadian charities will put your dollars and cents to excellent work. Caring, skilled men, women, and children are manning the wheel at our charities. What they need more than anything? The finances to keep things in motion. Your financial offering can make such a difference.

On the other hand, some charities will accept gifts-in-kind — that lightly used couch, coat, or pair of shoes will help!

Get Intentional

Give where you feel the love! CanadaHelps is a fabulous resource in selecting charities to support.

The cause that has most-helped you or your loved ones may be just the place to start this Giving Tuesday. If vulnerable pets or our remarkable Canadian wildlife tug at your heartstrings, give them a paw (or talon…or fin) up!

In giving creatively, you might even think about the impact your gift has on more than one level. Giving your lightly used household items, or a vehicle, means practical help to the recipient. That kind of giving does more! It reduces waste and is helpful environmentally. It clears your own space (possibly aiding in your own wellbeing). The benefits touch into your life, the life (lives) of your recipient, and the broader world.

Your Giving Tuesday

We’d love to see you this Giving Tuesday! Pick your charity and do up our quick donation form (it takes less than 10 minutes to fill out). Your charity not on our list? No problem! Just let us know and we’ll direct your gift to the cause you love! We’ll have you set up with your free tow and on your way to a tax receipt in short order!

That free tow will be managed efficiently, and with care. Typically, donated vehicles are picked up within 1 – 3 business days. You’ll be called in advance to ensure timing that suits you well.

The gift on top of the gift in all of this? Just as there is no cost to you, there is no cost to your charity of choice. We are here to ensure this full process is managed on behalf of yourself and your charity so that you can all keep doing what you need to do!

In anticipation of making a big difference together…

Giving is the heartbeat of Donate a Car Canada. It’s our mission, our secret agenda, and our weekly goal. We’re here for one reason: to serve Canadian donors and their chosen Canadian charities. We do that through the unique medium of vehicle donation.

Giving starts with the heart…

We give where we care (and, sometimes, where we hurt). I didn’t think much about donating to cancer charities until my Grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer and my Grandpa with cancer in his intestines. Diabetes is a cause that tugs at me because I have many dear friends who wrestle with it daily. Maybe you relate? The charity that rescues, supports, warms, and educates in the places (and with the people and creatures) that you love is probably the one that you readily share your hard-earned resources with.

…and giving works through our hands

Those resources come at a cost to you. The work of your back and brain and hands makes it possible for you to have enough to live, and enough to share — even if it puts the financial squeeze on in another area of your life. There’s something about this that is actually rich with gratitude. As Thanksgiving has arrived, we find ourselves considering how often “thanks” and generosity go hand-in-hand.

What does Donate a Car Canada do with your giving?

Our role here at DACC is to facilitate the pick-up and re-sale, or recycling, of your donation-ready vehicle. Every vehicle counts! Car or truck, SUV or motorcycle. Seasonally, we can even do some motorhomes and boats! We have supporting agents that manage the free transport. These capable, market-savvy companies then recycle the vehicle, or put it up for re-sale. The net proceeds go to your chosen charity. That’s right! You choose the charity. ANY registered charity in Canada can be chosen!

How does the giving add up?

Donations like yours add up and add up and add UP.

It is not a stretch to say that we see donations upwards of $9,000.00 and $29,000.00. Children’s hospitals and local SPCAs can draw many vehicle donors each month. Other organizations that captured hearts in the summer months are those reaching out to children and marginalized women. If vehicles are recycled (instead of re-sold) donations average around $400.00. And our donors who are mindfully caring for the planet contributed to many charities, allowing us to send some of those smaller amounts across the board.

One Habitat for Humanity supporter donated their Toyota Camry and wrote, “Thank you, We loved our experience with Donate a Car. When I called to ask questions, someone spoke to me promptly, and they were really kind and helpful. I liked the email that I got, asking if I did still want to donate, since I’d started the form, but not finished it online. The garage that came and picked up the car was great to talk to, and the driver who picked it up was very sweet. We’d absolutely recommend this to our friends.”

Are you ready to make a difference?

You may be ready to move an old(er) or unused car off of your driveway? Maybe you’re tired of paying storage fees on a vehicle that just isn’t getting the attention you expected it would? We can help! First, fill in an online donation form. Click the red button below and in less than 10 minutes you will be all set to hear your next steps. Then, wait for your agent’s phone call. They will arrange your free pick-up/tow at a time that suits you well. Finally, watch your inbox for your tax receipt. Simple. Quick. Free — for donor and charity alike!

We look forward to serving you and your charity in the months ahead!

“Will my new-ish tires make a difference when I donate my vehicle?” “Can I keep my wheels when I donate my scrap car?” Rollin’ your vehicle toward donation comes with a question or two — and we have answers!

Tired of dealin’ with tires?

If you have an old clunker sitting in the driveway, tires may be the least of your challenges. That’s what we’re here for! We make vehicle donation simple, quick, free, and friendly!

When folks donate their car, van, truck, or SUV they often ask about keeping the rubber. Our agent will require that the car has four tires for ease of transport. If you need to hold on to your good set it’s fine to swap them out. Even flats and spares are fine. The agent just needs to be able to roll the vehicle around the yard.

Donors also ask if good, or newer tires will boost their donation amount. Unfortunately, we typically do not see good rubber impacting our donation outcomes. This is because the price that you and I pay for tires is so inflated – our agents do not pay the mark ups that we do, which means that they have less dollar value to them.

Heading into winter

Another common query is about donating an extra set of tires. This is a generous extension of vehicle donation! Donors will often note that they’re including their winters or all seasons with their vehicle gift. Our agents are always happy to include those extras when they do the free tow.

When a vehicle is re-sold or auctioned, an extra set of seasonal tires can mean a little bump in the donation. Every little extra can enhance the value of the donated vehicle in a potential buyer’s eyes!

1-2-3 and done!

‘Ready to donate your vehicle (and whatever combination of tires you may have to go with it)? You can select any registered Canadian charity as the recipient of your gift. Donating is a simple three step process:

Fill in an online donation form. This will take less than 10 minutes.

Wait for your phone to ring — Your tow agent will be calling to set up your FREE TOW!

Watch your inbox: your tax receipt will arrive to you via email shortly after the net proceeds from the re-sale or recycling of your vehicle are disbursed to the charity.

More questions before you jump on in? Give us a call (1-877-250-4904 — real humans answer this line!). Or, pop over to our frequently asked questions page. The answers to your wonderings are probably close at hand!

We’re excited to work alongside you on behalf of the charity you love!

Have you heard? Canada is home to over 80,000 registered charities! Which charities accept vehicle donations? All of them!

Done with it? Donate it! But which charities accept vehicle donations?

Not long ago, if you had gone searching for a way to donate a vehicle, you would have just one or two options. Some of those providers served in limited areas. If you’d asked which charities accept vehicle donations it would have been a very short list, indeed!

Today you can find a few facilitators for vehicle donations, but your choice of charities continues to be quite limited. Here at Donate a Car Canada we make it possible for your to choose ANY Canadian charity!

Have you ever visited CanadaHelps? You’ve never explored generosity quite like what you’ll discover there! The remarkable news? Any charity you align with there is yours to gift with an unused or unwanted vehicle.

So, whether your care and concern rest with critters, health matters, kids, or faith endeavours, your car counts for your charity!

ps: If you’d like a shorter list to begin your search, pop over to our own “Charities” page. It’s a bit like a CanadaHelps-lite list of charities that accept vehicle donations.

Once I make my choice, what next?

Now that you know which charities accept vehicle donations, things can thrum along like a well-tuned engine.

First, choose your charity! A bit overwhelmed with the choices? No problem. Call in and we can ask some questions that will help you narrow things down.

After you’ve got your cause in mind, fill in an online donation form. In just a few minutes you’ll land in our inbox. Then, we’ll set you up with the supporting agent nearest you. We will email you with all of the details you’ll need for your files, and for peace-of-mind about your donation process.

Next, sit back and wait for the phone to ring. Your agent will be calling to arrange your free tow.

Finally, keep an eye on your inbox. That’s where your receipt will land at process end.

Not seeing our emails? Check your junk/spam folder. Sometimes we get snatched up and tossed in the trash before you have a chance to see our notes. You can expect to see your first email within seconds of submitting your form. A second email (explaining more about the process specific to your vehicle) usually arrive within just a few hours of your submission. So, if you don’t see these, we may have been routed to junk.

Thank you for your curiosity about which charities accept vehicle donations. We’re excited to work alongside you on behalf of your charity of choice!

“I’d like to donate my vehicle for the CMHA — can you help?” May 5 – 11 is Mental Health Week in Canada. Can we help with vehicle donations to support this effort? You bet we can!

Mental Health Week…and beyond

Donate a Car Canada is so very proud to work alongside dozens of mental health charities across the country! Thousands of donation dollars are raised for wellbeing every year. And we see those dollars being put to exceptional use in providing advocacy, programming, and compassionate support in communities just like yours. Day after day, month after month, year upon year. This is definitely more than a one week gig for your local, regional, and country-wide wellbeing charities!

Fast facts | The CMHA breaks it down

Mental health and illness: what is the difference?

Illness and health are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing.

“Mental health” is a concept similar to “physical health”: it refers to a state of well-being. It includes our emotions, feelings of connection to others, our thoughts and feelings, and being able to manage life’s highs and lows.

The presence or absence of a mental illness is not a predictor of being healthy mentally; someone without a mental illness could have poor mental health, just as a person with a mental illness could have excellent mental health.

Read more on the CMHA website!

What does this have to do with me?

It has really only been in my lifetime that we have started talking openly about this aspect of our wellbeing. If you are a little older, you may well remember a time when feelings simply were not discussed. Maintaining composure and bottling things up were signs of strength. We have moved beyond that, now. There is a growing permission to name what is true for all of us: we are resilient; we are vulnerable.

MHW goes a long way to expanding this open understanding.

Our emotional and processing health needs the same attention we might give a tummy ache, a broken leg, or a migraine. Minding our emotions and overall wellbeing is as important as taking care of our cardiovascular system.

In wobbly times like these, turning attention inward is important. We are learning to take care of our self — maybe with some of the same compassion we are quick to offer each other!

Check your local library, newspaper, and community services pages. There are sure to be many mental health week events happening near you.

MHW 2025 Theme

This year’s theme for MHW is “Unmasking Mental Health.” The CMHA describes it this way, “

Living with a mental health or substance use challenge is hard enough; masking can make it even harder. Living with mental health challenges often forces people to hide behind a “mask” to protect themselves from judgment and discrimination. But the heavier the stigma, the heavier the mask becomes, and the more isolated we feel.

This May 5-11, we’re encouraging people across Canada to look beyond the surface and see the whole person. By embracing honesty and vulnerability, we open the door to deeper connections and the mental health benefits that come with it. In doing so, we can create a ripple effect of courage and understanding across the country.”

Taking the week to attend your own wellbeing

Sometimes when we talk about this aspect of our wellness we suggest that there are “pillars of wellbeing.” If we imagine our lives as a building or a structure, we might imagine that it is held up by pillars like physical, emotional, and mental health. We could add financial, spiritual, relational wellbeing to those pillars, too. In fact, add as many as you like! The idea is that we are complex and interconnected creatures. We are more than one thing. Mental Health Week can be a really good time to take stock: how are you doing right now? What is it like to be you?

Humankind. Be both! This year’s Juno awards gave a sampling of how made in Canada music makers feel about this amazing country.

Made in Canada Juno’s style

Did you catch it? Anne Murray was awarded a truly made in Canada lifetime achievement award at the 2025 Junos!

Anne’s songs were the soundtrack of my childhood. Watching her receive her award with grace and pride felt just-so-right. And hearing her acknowledge the safe haven that her homeland has been for her was heartwarming, too. Simple. No flash or pomp (apart from the sequins adorning her proudly worn Team Canada jersey), Ms. Murray lauded the goodness of being home on this side of the border.

Buble champions the diversity of what it is to be Canadian

Michael Buble was host to the music awards. His opening monologue did a gentle justice to some of who this country is made of. Namely? The artists, teachers, healthcare workers, farmers, and fishermen. “When you love something, you show up for it! We don’t just acknowledge our differences. We embrace them.”

Take a look:

A little Canadian made in Canada goes a long way

Around here, human kindness and made in Canada go hand-in-hand. It sometimes feels like they’re synonymous! Just today we received a 5 star Google review from a cancer foundation donor who wrote,

“This is an easy process. Everyone is courteous and friendly.
Our experience donating our van towards cancer research foundation was so smooth and rewarding. Thanks to everyone involved including Glen who picked up are van in Edmonton. He’s a great guy.”

Yup. Glen. Glen the tow guy (maybe Buble will call out tow drivers next year?). He’s such a fabulous human. He exudes professionalism and helpfulness. And words like “courteous,” and “friendly” are just the workaday way things go for our little team here, too. Charity reps? Caring, compassionate, and endlessly useful sorts of humans. Donors? Expansively generous — they share kindness on four wheels again and again…and again.

Side bar: just today one War Amps donor submitted his third donated vehicle in two days!

This is the “home” that Anne Murray espoused in her acceptance speech. It’s the “showing up” that Buble crooned about, too.

Whatever may come, in our little patch of the world’s geography, Canada seems to know something about being safely human and deeply kind. We are utterly unique in our Canadian expression of humankind.
