We’ve extended Betsy’s legacy on behalf of Epilepsy Canada!

Who is Betsy? She’s a trusty 2004 Mercedes C240. You’ll want to see how this beloved car did on behalf of this heartwork…

Betsy revs it up for charity

On paper it appeared that the Mercedes was better off recycled than going through our re-sale process. She was simply too old, and the mileage too high for re-sale — or so thought! Betsy was about to prove us wrong.

What do we do if a car isn’t quite scrap ready, but cannot be auctioned off? We connect with our capable recycle/re-sale agents! These companies (local to the donation area) are one of the reasons we can draw the high donations we do. Our agents go the extra mile, assessing each car on its own merits. If they deem it recycle-ready, they’ll scrap the car. However, if they see re-sale value in the car or truck they’ll put it up for bids. Their contacts in the industry are vast. Moreover, they seek out the buyer that will offer the most money for the car.

They went to work on our donor’s behalf. Betsy went up for bids, and it paid off!

Epilepsy Canada benefits

Sold! Thanks to a happy buyer, a donation of over $700.00 was made. Donor’s choose their charities in our program. For our Mercedes donor, Epilepsy Canada was the charity of choice!

Here’s what EC has to say about Epilepsy itself,

“Epilepsy is a chronic disorder that is defined by unprovoked seizures. A person is diagnosed with epilepsy if they have two unprovoked seizures. However, these were not caused by some known and reversible medical condition. For example, alcohol withdrawal or extremely low blood sugar can bring on a seizure. Seizures in epilepsy may be related to a brain injury or a family tendency. Notably, the cause is usually unknown.

Approximately 360,000 Canadians live with epilepsy. It affects 1-in-100 people worldwide. Many people with epilepsy have more than one type of seizure. Additionally, they may have other symptoms of neurological problems as well.”

The mission

Epilepsy Canada is dedicated to positively affecting the lives of those living with epilepsy. It undertakes education and awareness activities. These build understanding, acceptance and hope for those effected by epileptic seizures or SUDEP. SUDEP is Sudden Unexplained Death from Epilepsy. Furthermore, EC’s active financial support of research aims to help the Canadian neurology community find a cure.

The organization depends on donor and volunteer support for the continued development and delivery of its research grant programs.

Partnering with Betsy’s legacy

Does this cause resonate with your own values? Or touch into the story of your own life? When you have a car, truck, van, SUV, or motorcycle you’re ready to donate, keep us in mind!

We are set up to process vehicle donations for any charity in Canada! Currently, the following charities are already partnered with us in support of this research and care:

BC Epilepsy Society

Edmonton Epilepsy Association

Epilepsy and Seizure Association of Manitoba

Epilepsy Association of Calgary

Epilepsy Canada

Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario

Your car and the causes you love

You are a click or a call away from free towing and a caring donation! The big red button below will take you to a donation form. This will take less than 10 minutes to fill out. Or, call in! Our (actual people!) donor support takes calls Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. We are happy to assist.

Curious to learn more? Then, check us out on Facebook or Google reviews to get more insight into what we do. By way of tooting our own car horn a little, we have an A+ rating through the BBB. Furthermore, we often receive 5 star reviews from donors. We love working alongside Canadians in their efforts to live generously all through disrupted times.

How do I donate a car in BC? It’s as easy as 1-2-3 — and your gift can go to any charity in the province!

All you need to know to donate a car in BC

…is a quick read and a click of a button away! There are one or two special rules about that ICBC transfer form of yours, but our agents will make quick work of that for you.

Here are the quick steps:

Click or call (1-877-250-4904)

Fill in the information form (this is where you’ll pick your charity, too)

Take a call from the towing agent and let them tackle the ICBC Transfer details

Leave the rest to us!

Does it help my charity to donate a car in BC?

BC car, truck, SUV, van, and motorcycle donors raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity each year. Your four-wheeled wonder can make such a difference!

We may recycle your car: this results in a flat-rate donation determined by what our agent will pay for the vehicle. This can earn your charity hundreds of dollars.

Whenever we can, we have our agents re-sell donated vehicles. This ensures that the charity can receive a gift of thousands of dollars if the car has that kind of value.

Whatever your cause, we are here to serve.

Whatever your vehicle, we will do all we can to assist. Scrap cars, junk cars, running-like-a-wonder cars — donate a car in BC and make a difference for the cause you love today!

About that ICBC Transfer Form

You will hear from us promptly after finishing up your donation form. Typically, we send an email within an hour, or two, on business days. We respond through the weekend as well! When you opt to donate a car in BC, you can expect things to move along at your pace.

After we have that form, the tow agent will call you or your tow contact to arrange tow timing. They will
– clarify current COVID measures.
– discuss the option to drop off your vehicle (if this is your preference).
– ask where you will leave the keys and original signed vehicle registration. Your signature on an ICBC Transfer Form will be required (our agent will advise regarding this process). In some cases, this means that the registered owner will need to be present at tow time. The agent will do all they can to make this as simple and efficient a process as possible!

Choosing your cause

When you fill in your vehicle information form you will easily see our drop-down list of charities. It is a really long list!

If you would like to explore charity options before you get started, our charities page can help. Another option? Spend some time on the CanadaHelps website. Their list of Canadian charities is extensive and we are able to serve them all.

Here’s a quick glance at some of the folks you can help:
