Did you know you can donate a Lexus? D.M. had an “AWESOME,” and reliable ES 350 that he wished to donate. Learn what the experience was like for him, and what his generosity means for his Charity of Choice…

In our Lexus donor’s own words

D.M. wrote in to say, “The Lexus has been AWESOME to me. It leaked transmission fluid, and that has resulted in the car not driving. It would be great if the car could go to someone that might get more use out of it. Oil/filters, new tires are the only things that have been needed in 18 years. It’s been remarkably dependent. Engine starts, no problem., Putting it into gear? That’s the problem.”

Donate a Car Canada evaluates each donated vehicle on its own merits. Our effort is to have our agents re-sell as many donated vehicles as possible. This happens as-is, to the highest bidder. Sometimes we run re-sale units through auction; sometimes our agents work the phones, reaching out to their customers to find an interested buyer.

What happens if a vehicle cannot be re-sold? Our recycle agents across Canada are in partnership with us to pay the highest returns possible. Metal values, and the curb weight of the vehicle determine this number. So, every car counts for your charity of choice!

D.M.’s Lexus was assigned to our re-sale/recycle process, thereby allowing the agent to attempt re-sale prior to recycling.

How it went

We checked in with D.M after his free tow.:

Donate a Car Canada (DACC): We have just been notified by our towing agent that your Lexus
has been picked up! If you haven’t already done so, please feel free to cancel any insurance on your vehicle.

Donor: Thanks for that tip…yes, I will cancel

DACC: Donate a Car Canada will now:
Wait for your donation total and payment from our agent.
Disburse your gift to your chosen charity.
Send you an email when your gift has been disbursed. Then, your charity will issue the tax receipt.

Donor: Ok…thanks…I look forward to that.

DACC: Did you find the donation experience fast and easy?

Donor: Yes, very easy. I initially emailed on the weekend, and I got a response on a
Sunday….wow…now That’s something you do not see every day! All the emails were well written, clear, lot’s of explanations…yet, done with a “personal” touch.

DACC: Were the staff at Donate A Car Canada friendly and helpful?

Donor: Very friendly.

How about the free tow?

DACC: Did you receive a call from our tow agent in a timely and cheerful manner?

Donor: Yes, I got 2 calls.. ! was from the Tow agent and he was pleasant and waited to confirm that I had the vehicle and some of the logistics of how it was parked. Today, the driver called. Very nice man. We joked as he took away the vehicle. He was right on the time he said he would be there….very punctual and professional…and lots of smiles too…nice guy.

DACC: Finally, were you happy with the tow service?

Donor: Yes…he was a good guy. I wanted a picture of my car as it left, he was suggesting the best angles to take the best pic.
I hope that someone, some where, benefits from that car. (charity, another owner)….cuz it was an AMAZING vehicle for 18 years for me. Letting go of it was like putting your favorite animal
at the vet…I loved that car.

On the other side of that Lexus donation

D.M.’s vehicle donation is now complete and his gift disbursed to his charity of choice, Trillium Health Partners.

What this might mean for you

While you may not be ready to part with a trusty Lexus, perhaps you have another unused car, truck, van, SUV, or motorcycle ready to donate? Running or not, your vehicle will make a difference for your charity of choice. The tow is always free. You will receive a tax receipt for the net proceeds from the re-sale or recycling of your vehicle. And, of course, your charity will receive a much-needed donation!

The first step? Fill in an online donation form. Then, wait for your phone to ring — the agent will call you to arrange your free tow. Lastly, watch your inbox for your tax receipt.

We’re here to assist. Call in to 1-877-250-4904, or pop over to our home page and start clicking. If you don’t see your charity on our list, no problem! You will find an option to name any unlisted charity right on your donation form. We will take care of all of the details on our side to ensure your charity receives your donation.

We can’t wait to work with you and your chosen charity!

Did you know that your hospital foundation can receive vehicle donations? It’s so easy to support those who have supported you and your loved ones. Turn your auto into helpful donation dollars!

Hospital foundations receiving car donation dollars daily

If you or someone you love has been well-tended by your local hospital, you get it: Gratitude. Immense thankfulness for the wise minds and soft hearts that took the best care they could. Are there glitches and gaps in our healthcare system? Certainly. But you’ve had the experience: the ones serving within it are doing their best.

You might have the experience of receiving cutting edge treatment or medical care, too? If so, giving back can be a significant part of your healing! One way to keep the lights on and the machines up and running is by donating your unused, unwanted vehicle.

Your Honda, your health care providers

Donating a vehicle to your local hospital foundation is simple, quick, and free.

Your first step is to fill in an online donation form. This will take you less than 10 minutes. ‘Need a hand? Just call in to 1-877-250-4904. Our friendly, savvy staff will get you set up in no time.

Next, you’ll get a phone call from your supporting tow agent. Remember, the tow is free! The agent will do their best to accommodate your tow timing. You can keep your license plate if you wish. If you leave it on the vehicle it will be taken out of circulation by the agent.

Finally, your tax receipt will come right to you! This happens after the agent has successfully re-sold, or recycled, your donated vehicle. They send payment for the vehicle to us so that we can disburse your gift to any Canadian charity you choose. CanadaHelps will ensure you receive the tax receipt right in your inbox.

Supporting your hospital in this way has immediate benefits for you (clear out that driveway!), and for your charity of choice. We can’t wait to serve you!
