Did you know that RMH car donation is another way to support Ronald McDonald House locations across Canada? One family is giving back to the South Central Ontario house that helped them through one of the most challenging times of their lives. We met them brimming with gratitude toward the charity, sharing, “Thank you (RMH) for everything you do for families like ours. Your kindness and compassion make a lasting difference!”

Meet the D’Mello Family

A video is worth a thousand words (so three must be worth 3,000?)! Meet the family who has a mission to express their deep gratitude for RMH South Central Ontario:

Welcoming three wee ones into the world came with unexpected challenges for one of the baby girls. The D’Mello family found themselves unexpectedly in need of supports extending far outside of their little crew of six.

Where the journey with RMH South Central Ontario began for D’Mello crew

“As parents of spontaneous triplets (Josie, Chloe & Zoe) and our now 4 year old (Capri), our family faced
unimaginable challenges when one of our daughters, Josie, was diagnosed
with severe Cerebral Palsy.“

“During countless hospital admissions and
extended stays totaling 200+ days, Ronald McDonald House provided us with
far more than just a place to sleep, it gave us comfort, hope, support, and
a sense of normalcy during an incredibly difficult chapter of our lives.

The staff, volunteers, and supporters made us feel welcomed and cared for
every single day. They truly created a home away from home for our family
when we needed it most.”

Dad goes on to say, “The Ronald McDonald House means so much to our family. During one of the
most difficult times in our lives, the House and its incredible staff, volunteers, and supporters made it feel like a true home away from home. We were truly blessed to have had the opportunity to stay there while our
daughter received care.”

A peek at some of Josie’s journey

The family writes, “As a small token of our appreciation, we are honoured to donate our Dodge
Caravan and Toyota Corolla. We hope that its value can help support other
families who may find themselves walking a similar path.“

Why folx like you give like you do

You’re probably ready to set up an RMH car donation right now!

Every vehicle donor that rolls through the Donate a Car Canada program has a story to tell. Often that story is directly connected to why they choose the charity they do. Experiences run through with deep care, worry, and struggle compel donation for charities like Ronald McDonald House, hospital foundations, and other health-based charities.

Committed care for animal welfare, the environment, and human rights are the driving force for many vehicle donors.

A helpful little side note: Have you discovered CanadaHelps, yet? They’re a one-of-a-kind resource for discovering Canadian charities. What does that have to do with your vehicle donation? Well, ANY Canadian charity can receive your gift. So, you can support the cause the is most alive and inspiring for you. We give where we care. You caring in this way matters!

And why we do what we do

That is why we do what we do. Because caring Canadians and their stories matter. Families like the D’Mello crew are the very heart of what we do every day. It’s special for us to be offered a peek into this special family and this part of their ever-deepening story!

Their RMH car donation — X2! — touched our entire staff in one way or another. They are a family who champions gratitude and generosity. In our experience, they are a reflection of something so true of Canadians across the country! The carers who keep charities like Ronald McDonald House operating strong. The donors who help keep the lights on. We’re all in this together!

I was talking with one of our hard-working towing agents this morning. After a bit of shop talk, he said, “I love your donors. Every last one of them is so nice.” This comes as no surprise to us! One of the proofs? The double-donation generosity we often see. Just recently a Calgary family donated 2 vehicles to their charity of choice! Who received their gifts? The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta.

The CPAA’s mission is to

… enrich and support the lives of children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities through our programs and services. (They) also collaborate with other organizations to promote awareness, acceptance and understanding for persons with disabilities to live, learn and work in the community.

Their Life Without Limits Gala is another way for Alberta residents to connect. You can support the work, research, and support of this joyful charity. This is their 10th annual gala, and it’s coming right up (on May 7th), so don’t miss out!

Cerebral Palsy the cause of choice for one Alberta family

One trusty Sonoma with high mileage and in need of muffler repair, and one worn out Integra were our Calgary family’s means of gifting the charity they love. With the Sonoma bringing a donation of $673.25, and the 20 year old Integra another $100.00, the benefit to the CPAA is a win all ’round.

The cause you care about will have many ways of inviting your support. Check out their web pages, engage in their events, and consider unique donation options (like vehicle donation) in supporting the charity you love!
