Human kindness, human rights?

We’ll just say it: things are feeling a bit bonkers right now. We’re feeling. So many feelings! Some of us are yelling about our feelings. Others of us are tensing our jaws and staying so very quiet. It can be tricky to discern if we should be shouting more loudly, or staying more quiet. I mean, we have rights…right?

We’re not going to weigh-in on those rights. But in a week when we were reminded that Kindness Day is a thing we all need, we stand by one basic privilege: human kindness. To that end, we’d like to introduce you to some of the Canadians that are doing their utmost to serve the world’s most vulnerable people. These are folks whose daily mission it is to extend compassionate equality, inclusion, and basic dignity.

Who do you love?

Donate a Car Canada is a family-run business operating out of Alberta. We’re a tight team of WFH humans. The captain of our little ship has made it her practice to offer employment with integrity, fairness, and inclusion. This means we’re a diverse bunch. Each of us have passions and beliefs; each of us work and serve with our own understanding of the human condition. The human condition in all of its complexities.

And every person on our team is here to serve Canadian charities without bias and with abiding compassion.

We do this understanding that Canadian donors give with their heart and soul. They donate based on their experiences. We feel so lucky to represent (with excellence and care) the broadest spectrum of those diverse beliefs, concerns, and causes possible.

Social justice works make it their daily practice to extend basic human kindness. They often do this with a reach that you or I could never employ on our own. And they need us to extend that very reach.

Even while we feel the ground shifting beneath us, can we agree to offer the steady hand of respect and support where we are vulnerable? Because we are all vulnerable in one way or another. We need each other to be a non-anxious presence in an anxious world.

The tow is always free, your charity of choice won’t pay a penny, and you’ll receive a tax receipt for the net proceeds of the processing of your vehicle!

Dignity, inclusion, safety, and care for all

For almost 20 years we have been at-the-ready to process car, truck, van, SUV, and motorcycle donations for LGBQT2S+ charities and their allies!

This Pride Month is no exception.

It is possible that the charity you love is already on our list of causes receiving car donations. If it’s not, we can correct that in no time. Just let the folks you love know that we have a one-click button right on the website that will connect them to our charities coordinator.

Or, go ahead with your vehicle donation. When you take that generous step, you can simply name the organization you wish to receive the funds from your car. We take care of the rest. That includes adding the charity to our always-growing list so that other donors can gift them, too!

Susan’s 2010 Nissan Murano was ready to come off the road. The driver’s door latch and lock mechanisms were broken. Its passenger window was stuck, and the trunk refused to open. A dead battery and flat tires, plus a few cosmetic injuries, all added up to the old thing’s last call. A free tow and a tax receipt later, and $400.00 was capably gifted to the donor’s charity of choice, Theatre Direct Canada!

Keeping the flood lights up

When you donate a vehicle for the arts it will always be free for you and your charity. We will make the process simple, quick, and friendly, too!

The form you find there will take you less than 10 minutes to fill in. Trouble with the form? We are here to help! Call in to 1-877-250-4904 to talk to a cheerful, funny, very efficient human!

Next, wait for your phone to ring. Our agent will call to arrange pick-up of your donated vehicle.

Finally, it’s time to receive your tax receipt! Once your donated vehicle has been re-sold or recycled, we will receive payment for it. Then, CanadaHelps will issue your tax receipt on behalf of whichever charity you have chosen.
